Everyone needs something to cheer for, for Duke senior Anu Agarwal. It's Duke women's basketball, women playing basketball is just something that felt really powerful to me. She's been to nearly every home game possible since her sophomore year. She wants the support to grow. A lot of times our student section is kind of empty when for men's possible. It's not. But the bright side of that is the people who are there really want to be there. So how do you show your support, your appreciation for a team you follow so closely, show me a sign. Like the first thing we ever made was her name is Vanessa Dees. I was like, Vanessa Dees shoots, you know, because she's a shooter. It sounds stupid. She really liked the sign guys. The hits keep coming like a Lucci. She's like, not even from Chicago but it's fine. So my friend Ruby Drew this one, she just made the lettering. We like did this by hand. Naturally, Agarwal brings friends to games like Marie Chang. I definitely never imagined myself as a sports fan. I saw first all joy that it brought the other people and I just wanted to be a part of that, a computer science major by day and an artist by night, the two had an idea, make a portrait for one of our favorite players, sophomore guard Taa Mayer. She loved it so much. She kept it. The signs continued. Even with requests. Coach Lawson actually asked us to make her a sign. I told him, I, you know, I was been waiting every game to walk out and have one. And so, yeah, we kind of had to make her a sign because she called us out with the last game in Cameron indoor for the season. It was time to make a sign for everyone kind of sketching out each of the players and their expressions and their clothes and the posing because to Erwald Chang and so many others, this Duke women's basketball team is for everyone. I think people have fallen in love with this team. Um This season's had everything and I think that's why people love sport, you know, is the journey that it takes you on a journey. These fans hope doesn't end anytime soon. Luis Fernandez Wrel Sports. Durham.
