Duke head coach Mike Elko says quarterback Riley Leonard will miss time after suffering a lower leg injury against Louisville. Freshman quarterback Grayson Loftis started for the Blue Devils in the team's 24-21 win against Wake Forest.
Yeah. So, um, you know, unfortunately just to address the Riley situation. So, so Riley is going to be done, um, for a while. Now, he, he injured, uh, his, his other foot and so he's got a lower leg injury on the other foot. And so it's completely unrelated to the ankle. And so that happened coming out of the Louisville game. And so we've known Grayson was going to be the guy all week. And so I just told him, take a deep breath, go out there, let it loose. You got nothing to lose. Um, we believe in you, we believe in who you are and, and what you're capable of and go out there and have some fun and, um, you know, it was obviously a rough start and through some interceptions in the first half, but I think he just kept sticking to it and, and obviously played his best quarter of the night in the fourth quarter and made some really big time throws to win us that football game.
