In a playoff room that hasn't had too much adversity. Carolina is now staring at a ton of it. They are knee deep in it. Carolina dropped both games at home in overtime, frankly could have won both but definitely were not the better team in the first one. The four overtime epic. They probably were the better team on Saturday night at P N C Arena, but doesn't really matter if you don't win the game and the Hurricanes are now down two nothing in the series last time they were in this position after losing both games at home to open a series was in 2021 when in the second round, the Tampa Bay Lightning who went on to win the Stanley Cup won games one and two at P N C Arena. Now, Carolina would love to do what they did that year, which is go to Tampa and win game three. And if that happens, then Carolina will feel pretty good about itself. Go into game four. Hey, at least we'd have a game five at P N C Arena at the end of next week. But frankly, if Carolina's going to win a game in this series. They're going to have to get some more from their best players. Their star players. Sebastiano has figured in, in some goals, but he hasn't been Carolina's best player. Frankly, I'm not sure that his line mate, another forward Seth Jarvis hasn't been Carolina's best forward through two games, 10 periods of hockey. He has certainly had some great opportunities to score and Carolina is going to need Sebastian aho to get on the front of the train and start pulling. They also need Martine Nas to be something other than a passenger. They need Tavo terrain to be back. Look, he's on the ice, no excuses. If you're on the ice, you have to produce. And Tavo Terravion is somebody that must produce. It is very possible though that this is just going to be chalked up to a terrible season from start to finish. Turbo never got going this year and we were all hopeful that when the playoffs rolled around, he would be a different player or the old Tavo Terravion, but of course, he got hurt in game two. We haven't seen him since and in these two games, he was ok in the four overtimes, but he wasn't in regulation in game one and he wasn't very good in game two. So those three players really need to get going for Carolina, it certainly wouldn't hurt to get a bounce here or there. But the Hurricanes have now lost two games at home. Both in overtime. Again, margins are very thin but you have to go to Florida and win a game, by the way. The biggest reason why Carolina is down two nothing in the series. Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, he's only made 100 saves in two games. That's it. Just 100. I mean, that's not bad. Right. See, on top of everything else, Carolina has run into the brick wall. They did that last year with Igor Shakin. Let's hope they can figure this one out. Maybe they can treat Bobrovsky like they treated Jose Theodore back in 22,002 and put a boatload of goals past him late in the series, but they're gonna need to do something. Bob's been great. Hurricanes have been pretty good but not good enough so far we'll see what happens tomorrow in sunrise.
