99.9 The Fan's Adam Gold says that he's not worried about the Canes after their Saturday loss to the Winnipeg Jets. The Canes offensive weapons are playing well, and they have too many good players for one game to dampen their spirits.
Well, I'm sure it wasn't a great Sunday morning for Hurricanes fans given the 53 loss to Winnipeg when you took a 30 lead into the third period. And a lot of people have already asked, how does that happen? It's pretty simple. Winnipeg's really good. Carolina had been better, significantly better in the first two periods. It was three nothing and all three goals by the way, came in the last 10 minutes of the second half when the Hurricanes really took the game over. Uh and the goal scorers were great. I mean, you gotta, uh you gotta love the way it happened, especially the last one, the veso pass to aho for the power play goal that made it three nothing but once you allow a bad goal and that's really what happened. Pyo Ket off. A lot of goalies shouldn't have allowed to start the third period and all a team like Winnipeg needs a little crack and I think Pyotr and to a certain extent the Hurricanes, but I think it was really about Pyotr just kind of got a little rattled and they, it five minutes later, it was 33 and then I actually thought the game was fun. I thought Carolina was good after that. But at that point it was really too late. Now you're, uh, you're playing with, you know, you're, you're rolling dice at that point. Hurricanes had a really good chance to make it. 43 couldn't, and ultimately Winnipeg gets the fourth goal. And even that was a mistake by Kachka probably shouldn't have come out the challenge, but he did and he, he poke, checked it, but it didn't get past Sean Monahan. And that was that. So where does Carolina sit now with 21 games to play? Basically where they would have been, had they won the game, you know, they're still behind the Rangers who lead the metropolitan division. They're well in front of the Flyers for second place and maybe that's the most important thing anyway, just finish ahead of Philadelphia get a first round by in the first round. But you've got Montreal on Thursday in a trip, another 1230 game Saturday afternoon in New Jersey before coming home to play three times including against the Rangers on the 12th. And that will be fun. And by then, uh, we'll be able to wager on it. Uh, but, uh, that's not why we're here. Uh So Keynes is still in good shape. Kko who was the reigning NHL rookie of the month for a spectacular February has to shake off his first start in March and everything will be fine. Hey, on the bright side it does look like you've got aho going well, Sveti terrain and naches. Your big guns are really blazing right now. And that's a good thing. So I'm not too bent out of shape over 53 Winnipeg and we'll see you Thursday at the rink.
