Coastal Carolina transfer QB Grayson McCall has worn the No. 10 for as long as he can remember. With that number taken by KC Concepcion, he's going with No. 2. But that won't change what we see on the field. The 3x Sun Belt Player of the Year is now ready to show what he can in the ACC.
What was it like being out there with new teams and coaches and really for, for real? Yeah, uh, it felt great to get back out there. Um, you know, I got injured about halfway through the season last year, so I haven't had the helmet on in a while, but, uh, you know, just really blessed to be able to have the opportunity to come out here, uh, obviously a little bit different wearing the red and a, a new jersey number. But, uh, just an awesome feeling to be out there with the guys and, uh, to get going. So I'm, I'm really excited about the spring and then what we're gonna build number two. No, man, one of the, one of the ones available. So, uh, that's, that's what I went with. You kind of passed the point of needing things like that to, to feel like yourself or whatever jersey at the time. You Yeah, man, you know, I've worn, uh, I've worn the number 10 jersey for the past eight or nine years. So, uh, it'll probably look a little weird on tape seeing myself in two for the first time. But, uh, no, man. You know, a number is a number. Um, you know, it, it is what it is. So, uh, just happy to be here happy that, you know, coaches, uh, allowed me to, to wear a jersey with NC state across the chest. And, um, you know, just tru truly blessed to be here that you, yeah, some of the guys that were here in the spring, obviously, no one Wesley that came in around the same time as me and, um, you know, Justin Jolie and, uh, and juice and some of those guys that, that I've been able to work with, um Dakari and Casey obviously kind of, you know, lead the charge in that group. So I'm gonna have to just keep stacking days, get on the same page with those guys, but, um I felt like today was a good start and, you know, a, a good point to build upon. Yeah, it's just, it's just learning a new offense, obviously, a new system, um, new terminology and um taking new coaching. But, um, you know, it's been awesome so far. Um The, uh, you know, the transition here was really smooth, being able to sit in those meetings and kind of get into the playbook a little bit before we got out there. So, um, it's gonna be a process, but I felt like, um, you know, today was smooth and just gotta, you know, keep learning, keep working, gotten deeper into that playbook. What's really excited you about. Yeah, just the, the different things we're able to do. You know, today was obviously day one and a, a small bit of install of things that we do. And, um, you know, if you watch practice, we're doing a lot of different things with motions and shifts and, um, getting different guys, the ball. So, um, you know, and then you, you put some quarterback run into it and things like that. So I'm really excited about what we're gonna do on offense and really excited to, you know, keep learning about how much you put into your office. Yeah, I think it's really good, obviously a really close group. Um, if you watch, you know, the Wolfpack play over the past couple of years, you can tell that they really, you know, we love each other here and, um, you know, they really care for each other. So that's kind of been one of my main goals during this transition was to, you know, get to know everybody and, um, you know, it wasn't able to be around the defense as much, you know, throughout, um, the workouts and things like that. So I think this is a really good time for me to, um, you know, take the time to, to talk to those guys and kind of pick their brains on what they're thinking, um, stuff like that. So it's going great. Now I'm looking forward to continuing to, to get to know all my teammates. Thank you God for expiration more.
