Ryne Moore is slated to get the start in Friday's Carolina Mudcats season--opener. Moore played rookie ball in the Arizona Complex League last year where he said it gave him the chance to feel out the play between college and professional. Moore was drafted in the 18th round of the 2021 draft
okay already, Ryan, I think you're getting ready for your first season at a professional level. Just how excited are you? Absolutely, yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Um, I got to come over here to Carolina and be a little bit close to home. It's only like 6.5 from pennsylvania. So get some family down here pretty often, which will be nice to see you were able to play in the Arizona complex. Right, What did that do for you to kind of get you ready for this book? I think it just allowed me to get my feet wet a little bit against professional hitters and just being able to feel out the differences between college and uh, pitching against these guys. Uh, obviously a lot of talent and these guys, so we'll see how it is up here, but I'm looking forward to it. It's definitely an honor for sure. I didn't, I wasn't really working for it. I was just kind of prepping for the season and uh, Drew approached me last week and kinda informed me on it. So I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully you see some fans out here. It's been a while since I've had that, but I'm definitely excited, you know? Yeah, there was a lot of restrictions and over a year before that and everything looks like things. Yeah, no, it'll be nice to see a bunch of people here. Um, I didn't get to play here last year. I was in college, but glad to see they got to come in at the end of the year, right? So just being able to get them back out here and play in front of play in front of them would be nice for sure. As far as moving up. I mean, I'm not gonna worry about it too much. Honestly, just pitch like I did in college and hopefully if I pitched well enough then they can notice that and move me up or whatever they want to do with me. But um, I'm just gonna worry about getting out and go from there and they've come up through, especially the mudcats here pretty quickly on the organization. Yeah, I mean, just getting there to start. Um, last summer, it was pretty cool. Like all the coaches are awesome, just teaching us things that like I didn't hear in college or just even like restating things that I did learn in college. So, um, just being able to work with those coaches and like come up here and be able to pitch on this stage is pretty cool for me. Uh, music. I don't like to talk to people really. Um, I eat barbecue the night before. I tried to, at least that's about it. Not really anything. Not yet. I need some suggestions for sure.
