maybe it's a new era for Carolina. Like there's a new era for Duke with new A. D. Nina King and there's a new era in college football. Of course, she says that Duke is equipped to handle the new changes. It is a Duke. Even before taking over as Duke's athletics director in May of 2021. Nina King was instrumental in the hiring of Jon Scheyer and carol lawson. And now new head football coach Mike Elko, We're bringing Duke into this new modern era and the next iteration of college athletics, whatever that might be, name, image and likeness along with conference realignment has changed how college athletics has traditionally operated. Duke has adjusted. King allowed men's head basketball coach, john Scheyer to hire Rachel baker as a general manager to oversee N. I. L. And play your brand partnerships. But even through innovation, King says, Duke will never stray from its values. Just making sure that we're adapting to the shifting landscape but staying true to who we are at Duke. We place a high priority on an appropriate balance between academics and athletics. And we're never going to go away from that. We're not going to be purely athletics and not focused purely on frankly academics either. We need our student athletes to be very successful at both. King is very excited about the direction of the football program. Under head coach Mike Elko, they will open up their season at home against Temple on september 2nd Guitar heroes!
