Well, if you are someone who believes sports aren't as good as that used to be, then you might want to pay attention closely to what Joe Giulio has to say in this week's shot of Joe to go. Yeah, remember the good old days when Michael Jordan ruled the world and outer space. That's when the MBA was really great, wasn't it? Never mind how the game has grown internationally, or how scouting and analytics have changed the game. Never mind the advancements in nutrition or fitness. Never mind how Steph Curry and the Warriors changed the game and put a premium on shooting. Never mind that hand fighting and fouls have gone the way of the dinosaur quality of play, all minor details. Anytime someone says, Remember the good old days? Asked them if they really do, or if they're misremembering. We like to look back through a sepia toned lens instead of reality. LeBron James won his fourth NBA title with a third different team in the bubble this week. You can argue Bill Russell's dynasty was better with the Celtics. You can argue that Jordan was more clutch, but you can't dispute what James and the Lakers have done is the most unique path to an MBA title. Don't let hazy nostalgia diminished James's accomplishments, because the good old days they weren't as good as you think they were. That is your shot of Joe to go. Don't throw it away.
