Jordan Staal speaks to the media after the Carolina Hurricanes lose back-to-back overtime games against the Florida Panthers. The Canes trail the Panthers 2-0 in the series with Game 3 on Monday in Florida.
Obviously we'd like to get a few more goals and especially when we're buzzing like that, you know, I think one goal wasn't going to cut it tonight and we had a chance to set our looks to score a lot more than that and they didn't go in tonight. I know, want to take game and, um, you know, for the it, but what kind of mental toughness does it take to shake off to overtime loss? Like, yeah, it's over time. I mean, it's, they, they, they're tight games and we're right there. So, um, I didn't, I didn't hate our game at all. Actually, I thought we played really well and, um, you know, we had our chances to win the game again. Um, you know, I'm gonna have to, uh, find a few little things that can get us better and get us over the hop and let's steal some games down in Florida that make it more frustrating. The fact that you guys are playing well and you're in this situation. I mean, it's, it's never going to be easy. We know that. So I think we, we'll keep, keep hounding at them and keep trying to find ways to get some bounces and keep creating the offense and, um, and, yeah, find a way to go over this, uh, this hump and we get, uh, get on a roll the margins, this thin, this narrow, this razor thin, but the difference between you guys is just two goals through two games. Yeah, I, I would, I would say look pretty to me. I don't know you guys but, um, you know, I still think there was lots of chance out there though. I mean, it could have been, it could have been 55, both boys played well. And, um, you know, I think, uh, um, there's a reason why they're going overtime. It's two good teams going at it and we had some pushes, they had some pushes and, um, you know, and, uh, going overtime and unfortunate pen and, and kill him off. But, um, you know, we have to regroup and like I say, go down for what is, what has been doing really? He's been very, very effective in, in these first two games. Uh, I don't know, he's playing against me but, uh, you know, I obviously had to do a better job against him and, um, you know, it's, uh, uh, he's, he's a really good player obviously and he's, uh, um, doing some good things, obviously, he's, he's strong wins jobs and, um, goes to that hard and, and finds the soft spots and he's got hands and a long stick could reach defensively. He does all things. Well, so we got to be better against him and, and find ways to slow him down.
