Police arrested two men Tuesday who they said are responsible for a string of burglaries in Cary.

According to the Cary Police Department, the department has been investigating a string of break-ins since January. Police previously asked for public assistance in identifying the suspects of the burglaries.

Police arrested 34-year-old Tremain Mason and 28-year-old Deion Liles, both of Durham, whom investigators identified as suspects in the burglaries. Cary police said they located Mason in Durham with assistance from the Durham Police Department and arrested him without incident.

Durham police later located Liles, who then ran from police and crashed his car on I-85. Liles was taken to the hospital with injuries from the crash and arrested.

Authorities charged Mason with 57 counts of burglary and Liles with 20 counts of burglary.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012 or Cary Crimestoppers at www.p3tips.com/1242 for anonymous reporting options or (919) 460-4636.
