Kacy Hintz and Chris Lea talk about the Panthers 27-13 loss to the Colts on Sunday. Bryce Young was picked off three times and the Panthers struggled throughout the game.
Let's switch gears back to the Carolina Panthers as we continue to break down the 2713 loss to the Colts. And to help me do that, let's bring back in that Chris Lee who was at Bank of America Stadium. Chris, we already heard you talk about the abyssal offense today, but there's plenty of other things that went wrong in today's loss. But I want to start with something I saw you tweet it out of head coach Frank right in his press. He looked emotional, of course, he was going up against his former team every game they want to win, but I'm sure this one, he probably wanted a little extra. This one, this one maybe hit a little harder as the team is now one and seven. Absolutely Casey. And in this past week, he was asked by a Panthers beat reporter like, hey, we know that you're going to say every game is important, we're going to prepare for every game. But come on, this is a team that you coached. This has to mean a little bit more and Frank Reich didn't admit that this game did mean just a little bit more to him. And so in that post game, you're right. I tweeted out the picture, his eyes were red and it looked like either he had been crying or he was close to coming to tears, which was something that you tell, you knew that he really wanted this one. And you talked about the mistakes that the Carolina Panthers made. It's also mistakes in sacks. They are bottom part of the league. They are 29 out of 32 teams and giving up sacks and they've given up almost 250 yards worth of sacks this entire season for the Carolina Panthers. That is an entire game of offense. They can't afford these mistakes and they're continuously killing themselves when it comes down to these mistakes that make any man cry. Listen to those stats, Chris. All right. Well, you know, some of those mistakes also were penalties way too many penalties today. I think it was something like 10 for 81 yards. Chris, the lack of discipline. What gives this week? Yeah. So we talked to aim Akanu after the game and he was asked that exact question and he said sometimes it just goes against you and you don't have a real explanation as to why there's a lot of penalties for the week. But they were very undisciplined in this game. The last two games combined, the Carolina Panthers had six penalties, three against the Texans, three against the Dolphins and of course, as you said, 10 in this game. So one of the things they have to do to go back to the drawing board is to make sure that they don't commit as many penalties. And especially on special teams where a lot of them seem to come. Now, one penalty is in dispute. Xavier Woods hit Michael Pittman. It looks like in the shoulder, shoulder to shoulder, but he was called for launching and the referees thought he hit him in the head and neck area. The replays showed that he hit him in the shoulder area. So that's one that Panthers fans will probably want to have come back. But still, even after that, there's still nine penalties there. So the Panthers definitely have to go back to the drawing board when it comes to that. You know, I I rewind that one quite a few times. Got to say there was launching there. He left his feet. I was trying to figure that one out already. Well, the defense already decimated with injuries didn't get any better today. Highlighted by Brian Burns. Chris, what is the updates on him? Yes. So we found out that after the game that he was in concussion protocol and as you know, Casey, the Panthers only have a short turnaround in four days. They're going to be in Chicago to take on the Chicago Bears for Thursday night football. So it's going to be very tough for somebody like Brian burns to exit that concussion protocol in four days. It's almost nearly impossible. But that's one of the things that the Carolina Panthers will be looking to see what will happen with his health over the next few days. And the Bears, another team that's at the bottom half of the league when it comes down to, uh, giving up sacks. If you don't have Brian Burns there to get after the quarterback, we don't know if it will be Justin Fields or someone else, then that's going to be a major hit to the Carolina Panthers defense and that's something that they want to look forward to and then all the other person and another person, excuse me in the concussion protocol. CJ Henderson. So these injuries are stacking up for the Panthers defense just going to say the names continue to stack up here. Boy, I'm Frank. Right. I'm calling the league office as why I played a 4 p.m. game and now I got to turn around and play Thursday night game, like you said, it's a short turn around. It will be Thursday night with the Bears. That's what we're here for you next Chris. Thank you so much.
