Welter: Carolina fans enjoying Manek Madness this March
With everything that's gone wrong in sports the last couple years, Brady Manek is an example of something going right. COVID-19 sparked his decision to transfer from Oklahoma to North Carolina and it's changed his life.

Welter: Coach K built a program that everyone could be a part of
You either love Duke, hate Duke, or just own a pair of their shorts. Mike Krzyzewski has built a program that everyone can be a part of and the tradition will live on long after he's gone.

Welter: Blowouts in big games are becoming an identity for North Carolina

Welter: Michael Jordan and the UNC greats bring out best in Tar Heels, worst in NC State
After a historically bad week UNC basketball responded in front of Michael Jordan and members of the 1982 National Championship team. Now the heat is being turned up on Kevin Keatts and NC State.

Welter: UNC's season could have used some mayo
UNC could have used a Mayo Bowl win to make this season easier to swallow. Maybe not 4.5 gallons worth, see South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and the highly publicized mayo bath, but there's clearly been a missing ingredient.

Welter: We shouldn't be so quick to move on from Cam Newton and other "old" QBs
21-27 189 yards, 2 touchdowns passing, 1 rushing, NO turnovers. Imagine if Justin Fields put up that stat line or Trey Lance. What would people be saying then? I don't know if it's the vegan diet, but at 32 years old Cam looks like he has plenty left.

It's Mike Krzyzewski's final season at Duke. He hasn't even coached a game this season and the media is already asking him about his final one. At Tuesday's ACC Tip Off in Charlotte the frenzy of final year questions officially began.

Welter: UNC is the "Man of Steel" of this college football season
The Superman movie "Man of Steel" was one of the most disappointing movie going experiences of my life. This year's UNC season has been the football equivalent.

I've been to a lot of iconic venues, The Rose Bowl, Beaver Stadium, The Swamp, Jerry World...but there's just something about that Carolina blue.

Welter: Darnold looks like just a rebound not a long term relationship
We all remember the first time seeing an ex with someone new. Makes you feel some type of way right? Not Sam Darnold apparently....at least in the football sense.
