The ACC canceled all athletic activities through the end of the 2019-20 academic year on Tuesday.
The move comes after the league's 15 members had previously suspended all competition and activities due to coronavirus concerns.
The NCAA had previously canceled the championships for spring sports but there was a brief window for spring sports to possibly return and compete in the regular season and conference championships.
"Our top priority remains the health and safety of our student-athletes as well as our fans, communities and the overall well-being of others during these uncharted times," ACC Commissioner John Swofford said in a statement released by the conference.
"We are particularly disappointed for our student-athletes and will continue to work with our membership to assess what is appropriate in the future."
The league said it was a "unanimous decision" by all of the schools to "mitigate the further spread of COVID-19."
The ACC and the NCAA are expected to work together on granting athletes in their senior year an extra year of eligibility. There is no plan in place yet on how that will be handled under the current scholarship limits for each sport.
