Gold: Canes into conference finals with sweep of Islanders
The Carolina Hurricanes swept the Islanders out of the playoffs with a 5-2 win in front of a record crowd at PNC Arena. Five different players scored and Curtis McElhinney made 26 saves as the Canes completed a 4-game sweep for the first time in franchise history. Carolina will play the winner of the Boston-Columbus series that is currently tied at 2-2. -
