Apex's Indya Nivar helps Team USA win gold medal in FIBA Championship

Apex's Indya Nivar is now a gold medalist after her contributions in the FIBA U18 Women's Americas Championship helped Team USA win it all.
The U.S. women’s U18 national team won the gold medal last weekend in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Nivar logged eight minutes and scored two points in the gold medal game, a 81-77 win against Canada. Her best game of the championship tournament came against Puerto Rico, when she scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. Nivar averaged 6.7 points and 3.7 rebounds during the games.
Nivar played at Apex Friendship High School, was a McDonald's All-American selection and committed to play collegiately at Stanford. She helped the Patriots reach the 4A state championship game during the scholastic season.
Team USA was led by Cotie McMahon's 22 points in the final. Teams representing Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico and Puerto Rico all participated.
