Durham, N.C. — Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski will experience his last home opener at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Friday night against his Alma mater.
After a legendary run as head basketball coach at Duke, Coach K will guide the Blue Devils in their home opener - one last time.
Krzyzewski has been the head coach of the Blue Devils for 42 seasons, since 1980. The five-time national champion coach says right now, he's focusing on the present rather than retirement.
The Blue Devils, ranked No. 9 in the country, will take on Army at Cameron Indoor Stadium in a 7 p.m. tip-off. Krzyzewski played point guard for Army from 1967 to 1969.
Cameron will be filled with fans, something we didn't see at all last season. The stadium was full for an exhibition game against Winston-Salem State on Oct. 30, as Cameron Crazies were able to attend again.
Duke is coming off a win over No. 10 Kentucky at Madison Square Garden in New York City in its season opener.
When it comes to home openers, Duke has won 39 straight.
