Duke rocked 12-2 by Cavs Sunday, eliminated from postseason play

Virginia (50-13) scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning and never looked back, defeating Duke (39-24) 12-2 on Sunday afternoon. The 39 wins by the Blue Devils are the second most under head coach Chris Pollard, behind the 2018 team who won 45 games.
Junior Jay Beshears hit a two-run blast to left field in the top of the sixth inning, cutting the Virginia lead to three. Beshears finished the day 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Virginia opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning, scoring five runs to put the Blue Devils in an early hole, 5-0. Beshears hit a two-run home run to left field in the top of the sixth inning, to cut into the Cavs lead, 5-2.
The Cavaliers proved to be too much, however, adding six more runs between the sixth and seventh innings to go up 11-2.
The Cavaliers added one more run in the bottom of the eighth, going up 10 on the Blue Devils, 12-2.
