Duke women to play first-round NCAA Tournament game against Iona at Cameron Indoor Stadium

Durham, N.C. — The Duke women's basketball team is set to make its 25th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first under head coach Kara Lawson.
No. 3 seed Duke will play at 9:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham against No. 14 seed Iona. The game will air on ESPN2.
The two teams are in the Seattle 4 Region. The winner will play either Colorado or Middle Tennessee in the second round of the tournament on Monday.
Tickets went on sale at 11 a.m. Monday for the Duke-Iona game.
Duke (25-6, 14-4 ACC) lost 58-37 to ACC champion Virginia Tech on March 4 in the semifinals of the conference tournament.
The Blue Devils have two double-digit scorers in senior guard Celeste Taylor (11.5 points per game) and senior forward Elizabeth Balogun (10 ppg).
On Monday, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Taylor was among four finalists for the 2023 Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year award. Along with Taylor, the list of finalists includes Brea Beal and Aliyah Boston of South Carolina and Stanford's Cameron Brink.
