Hurricanes fans also preparing for Game 7 against the Bruins

Posted May 13, 2022 10:46 p.m. EDT

The Carolina Hurricane are preparing to hit the ice Saturday for a decisive matchup against the Boston Bruins. The game will be deciding factor if the Canes advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup finals.

But, the few tickets left for Saturday's game will be costly for Caniacs. Available tickets to the game are in nosebleed seats, and will cost fans around $150.

Those who can't see the action in person said they'll have their eyes glued to big screen at local bars.

"I can't want to celebrate them once they win," said fan Joey Foster.

Speaking a win into existence is what some fans, like Foster, said they do in preparation of a do-or-die matchup.

"There's just something differently about Raleigh. The boys come back and we play. We play to win," said Foster.

Daniel Cass is a self-described "super fan" of the Hurricanes. He'll be wearing a personalized jersey on Saturday, and driving a car decked out in Hurricanes gear.

"I feel optimistic," said Cass. "Maybe a little cautiously optimistic."

Cass' love for the team started when he moved from Vermont to North Carolina in 2008.

"I was actually given an offer for some promotional tickets ... I went to those games, went to the playoff game that year and I was hooked from there," he said.

During the first-round series of the Stanley Cup playoffs this year, the Hurricanes have won every home game against the Bruins, but lost against them on the road.

Hurricanes fans said they have hope with them being back at home on Saturday.

"Having that fan advantage really makes the difference," said Cass.

While seats in the highest part of the arena are expensive, fans say it's an experience that's worth every penny.

"It's a community. Everyone's loud, everyone's having fun, everyone's accepting and it's a really good fan," sand fan Alex DeMarco.

The final game in the series between the Hurricanes and the Bruins starts at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
