No. Gary Bettman is a little troll. He doesn't learn.
On a side note, does anybody know where I could watch broadcasts of AHL or KHL games? -

Bettman says 'we have the best fans...'. The last lockout/negotiation was for the health of the league. This latest is so the petulant little troll can show what a great man he is. He is going to lose a bunch of 'the greatest fans'. Best thing the owners can do is fire him. My season tix are gone too, if there is a lockout.

I have to laugh at fans that don't understand economics. How many years have the Canes turned a profit, any profit, for PK? 2, that's right 2. I am definitely on the side of the owners on this because the players make 57% of revenue in the NHL and that's just too much. People talk about the increase in hockey revenue since the last CBA but what you rarely hear is that all 30 teams put together only made a profit of about 126 million last season. And all that profit was made by 12 of the teams, the other 18 either broke even or lost money. So the NHL can either raise prices to make more money per fan, or guess what? They can decrease expenses. And where are they going to decrease expenses? That's right, the 57% of gross revenue that is going to the players.

Maybe all the players can go back to their respected countries and we can have a world cup game every year. This way the players don't have to worry about the NHL owners anymore. The Canadian people will be happy because the cup will be in their country forever.

— Posted by kenshiThen why did the owners sign this deal last time? They gave 57%...no one stole it from them. Anyhow, I agree it should come down but there has to be some middle ground. It shouldn't be all or nothing for either side.

I'm not confident an agreement will happen anytime soon. I think this season is a total bust. Definitely not considering season tickets for the future.

I would like to see a new commissoner. This is his 3rd lockout in his tenure as commissioner. The NHL lost a full season last time. It's going to lose half if not a full season. As fan's of hockey. We will be lucky. If it start's by January.
It hurt's small market team's when their is no hockey.
I blame both side's. I feel a 50/50 deal is fair. The owner's just like the player''s are in it for the money. -

I don't see any pucks being dropped this year, at least not in Raleigh. Sad. I was looking forward to seeing the Staal brothers playing. Maybe next year??

yes, salaries have to come down. Dont pay the players when these current contracts run out. By putting a cap at 50% or 57% or whatever, all thats doing is protecting the owners from themselves. Pay them 40% and pocket some cash. You will lose 60 games but you could do it that way.

I am not too optimistic about an agreement at this point. I think Bettman will in fact cancel the season after next friday if no deal is in place. It would be sad to see Hockey go thru a 2nd canceled season within 7 years.
