How far did the Capitals go in the post season?

Capitals rule! Ovechkin and company will take care of business for the 3rd straight year. That's my prediction.

I hope we can beat the Capitals also, it's good to see a guy from Massachusetts on the forum for the Canes. It should be a fun season to watch, thanks for your contributions. GO CANES

This is going to be an incredible season, with A-Ward and Alberts added to defense and a couple of veteran 3rd and 4th line offenseman I'm feeling good about it. This will be Staal's 50 goal year, Cam's best numbers, Brindamour is gonna suprise with a great season, Cullen,Cole,Larose,Whitney,Samsonov,Ruutu will all be 25 goal scorers. This is my prediction.

I'm still suspect. I don't think we have the big tough defensemen that you need to play uptown hockey. Quick ,OK ,but big and tough is better. Time will tell , hope we can still pick up a couple big tough horses on defense before the season starts.

I like what JR has done in the off-season. He kept as many players as he could. He has once again, done more with less (money). I hope Cole plays to his potential - I am so happy he's back - he was always a Cane to me. Roddy has at least one more year left in him, and hopefully he'll have a good year this year. He's a leader and the team needs him. If the Canes play like they did in March, we'll have a great season. Go Canes!

JR has done a great job with the limited budget. I think he has set up this team for a deep run and at the same time has not mortgaged the future. This should give the kids a chance to play together in Albany for a full year, and allow a couple of kids to come up and fill in when there is an injury. Then next year will be the interesting year. A lot of these kids in Albany it will be time for them to step up. Of all the UFA's next year I think they will keep Whitney, Walker and maybe Corvo. They need a deep run this year because next may have some growing pains.
I still see no one in this division competing for the division other then the Caps. No reason the Caps and Canes are not 1,2 in the division for the next 3-5 years because the other teams are awful!

I think it was obvious that the defensemen had to be addressed in addition to bringing back our own key free agents. From what I've seen so far, Rutherford is doing a good job of it. I don't think we're completely done yet.

I think as Erik Cole goes, so go the Hurricanes. He plays too big a role to be disappearing offensively. Everyone else you pretty much know what you're going to get. And of course Brind a mour must bounce back in a big way, which I believe he will.

The Canes have done a decent job this offseason of getting players that want to play here and have proved that they do in seasons past. Erik Cole, for example, always a fan favorite and always will be, JR kept him. Ruutu, a fan favorite, what happened with him, we kept him. Paul Maurice, took us to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, JR kept him. Yes, the offseason has had its downs to like it always does, we lost Kaberle, who proved to us he could play in the big time. Babchuk, ehh, big shot, but we have players in the minors to replace him. So I really like where this team is going right now, tell me what you think?
