There has to be a coach out there whose attitude falls somewhere between Laviolette's fire and Maurice's complacency. Neither can seem to keep this team playing at its best for extended periods.
Missing the playoffs this year with their talent is really inexcusable and should not have come down to the last game. 6 weeks ago the Canes were in the midst of a dreadful slump, and Maurice seemed to have a "let it take of itself attitude". Only a few defensive personnel changes by the front office seemed to make any difference.
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him gone - Rutherford does have a close friendship with 'Mo but he does not suffer fools or poor performance for very long.

My gosh, in a million years I would not have guessed that outcome. To be totally outplayed by a team that had nothing on the line was more than dissappointing.
I heard Forslund say that Maurice told the guys to treat the game as any other and to follow their pregrame routines. IT wasn't just another game - it was a huge game for the team/franchise and fans.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mo is let go after that ....

Very disappointing for the players and fans. With the talent we had, a playoff spot should not have come down to the wire. An article in today's N&O supports a head coaching change. I tend to agree and would be interested in what others think.

    I haven't seen a fold like that since I bought a suit from K-Mart.

Felt like a complete reversal of last night's win in ATL. The Canes looked tired and played slow. Sometimes we were so slow we made Tampa Bay seem like Neo from the Matrix.

Great final push but we came up short. Next year lets not be in the position.

    Love you guys!

    Lets go Canes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
