JR has a tough job; he must spend just enough $ to get enough talent/coaching to just get in the playoffs. He has missed a few times lately. I will Corvo's toughness and passes out of the back to breaking players.

I like Cole. I think he had a great year last year. Was very happy with his play. I don't think Rosey was worth the 1.8 - 1.9 we payed him. He wasn't the Chad of old.

OK. Not a fan of pick you nose. Spending 4.5 million on this guy was a waste of money. REALLY???????????? WOW, very disappointed. If Pitkanen was that good, our PP wouldn't have stunk so bad.......

I don't think Cole is still around because of his talent as much as because he represents a key link to the Stanley Cup team. It wouldn't bother me to see him leave, but he is a fan favorite. I'd rather keep LaRose if we don't have to pony up a big raise.

IMO, most free agents tend to get more money than they are worth, if only because the owners, like most pro owners, are stupid and let themselves be drawn into bidding wars that hurt everybody.

I have respect for JR. As a fan and season ticket holder, it would be nice to go after someone of significance. If you look at the last few days, there have been numerous trades, Brian Campbell, Jeff Carter, Powe, Mike Richards, Regehr, Setoguchi, etc., etc. Some were traded for 3rd rounders, and for the most part, prospects.

While some of these guys carry weighted contractsm WOULD it be nice to see us land a HUGE talent for this market???????

My question is, as a season ticket holder, would I love to see a run made at Brad Richards, Steven Stamkos? Sure I would. Resigning the likes of Chad Larose and Eric Cole each year is not my idea of being very exciting. My opinion. Throwing it out there for conversation.......

Raleigh is extremely fortunate to have a GM as widely respected as Rutherford. Every year, he manages to field a competitive team in a small market, while trying to hold his owner's losses to under $10 million. I don't know how much you think an owner should be willing to lose, but I'm happy that Karmanos is willing to lose as much as he does to entertain us with exciting hockey.

This is where we sit for cap space. Plenty of wiggle room to go get some decnt players....

Okay. So each year we sit on our laurels and wait. We, being, US the fans. So here we are. Down to the wire of free agency and again we wait on JR to pull the trigger on our own free agents. To me, having followed this franchise since 1990, this time frame has never changed. We sit while evryone else makes moves and then we pick up the pieces by signing the has beens or low budget players. Since we are getting ready to start another FA round, WHO if anyone, will we go after???????
Any thoughts. Think small as we continue, 21 years later to follow the same team model as we alway's have. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!!!!!!!
