After claiming the NCAA doubles title just a month ago, NC State women’s tennis senior Nell Miller will get another chance to compete on one of the biggest stages in the sport. Miller will play at Wimbledon, as the All England Club announced that she was awarded a wild-card entry for the ladies’ doubles draw.
A native of Kent, England, Miller will pair up with fellow Briton Sonay Kartal for the Grand Slam tournament. The bracket will be released Friday, June 24 with action set to begin on Wednesday, June 30.
Miller and Kartal are coming off a run to the doubles semifinal of last week’s ITF Pro Circuit event at Ilkley. They defeated Robin Anderson and Arianne Hartano 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 in the opening round and Adina Rodionova and Yanina Wickmayer 6-3, 2-1 (ret.) in the quarterfinals to book their spot in the semis.
After joining the Wolfpack program in January ahead of the 2022 dual match campaign, Miller earned status as an All-American and a Third Team All-ACC honoree following her doubles national title win with partner Jaeda Daniel. She compiled 19 wins in singles action and a 27-5 record in doubles in 2022.
