NC State to visit Cal and Stanford in new-look ACC basketball schedule

North Carolina will keep home-and-home series with rivals NC State and Duke in the first season of men's basketball play in the 18-team ACC, but the Wolfpack must visit both of the leagues' California newcomers.

The league is adding Cal, Stanford and SMU this fall, pushing its total membership to 18 teams. The ACC will continue a 20-game conference slate in 2024-25.

Each school will play three teams home and away (6 games total). The school will play the other 14 conference members one time, seven at home and seven on the road. Game dates, times and television networks will be released this fall.

Only the top 15 finishers in the regular season will reach the ACC Tournament. The 2025 tournament will be held at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.

UNC will play Duke, NC State and Pitt twice. NC State will play UNC, Wake Forest and Cal twice. Duke will play UNC, Wake Forest and Miami twice.

NC State has road games at Cal and Stanford, but plays SMU at home. UNC gets both California teams and SMU at home. Duke visits SMU, but plays both Stanford and Cal at home.
