North Carolina football has announced when fans can get a glimpse of the next iteration of the Tar Heels. This year's spring football game will be played on Saturday, April 20 at 3 p.m. in Kenan Stadium. In a statement, the program says more information will be shared at a later date.
UNC finished this past season with an 8-5 record, losing three straight games, including the Duke's Mayo Bowl against West Virginia, to wrap the year. North Carolina hired a new defensive coordinator this offseason, Geoff Collins, the former Georgia Tech head coach, to replace former defensive coordinator Gene Chizik.
While there will be many questions surrounding a new year of North Carolina football, one of the biggest will be replacing former ACC Player of the Year and likely top-three NFL Draft Pick, quarterback Drake Maye.
North Carolina starts its season on Thursday, August 29 on the road against Minnesota, a team it beat in 2023. The Tar Heels will play three straight home games against Charlotte, North Carolina Central and James Madison before starting ACC play with a road game against Duke on September 28.
