The Carolina Panthers continue to make changes to leadership, adding to the front office and coaching staff. In the front office, Brandt Tilis will join the franchise as the executive vice president of football operations and with the coaching staff, assistant head coach/run game coordinator, running backs, wide receivers and offensive line all have a position coach.
Brandt Tilis joins the front office
While Dan Morgan works as the president of football operations/general manager, Tilis will be responsible for all football administration and non-coaching matters related to operations, equipment, video, and analytics, among other areas. Tilis spent the last 14 seasons with the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, including the last three as vice president of football operations. He worked as the lead contract negotiator for KC since 2017 and will served the same role for the Panthers moving forward.
"It's great to add Brandt and his experience to our organization," Morgan said. "He comes from a championship-caliber team in Kansas City and will play a lead role in our front office. We are looking forward to getting him here and working together to build this team."
On its website, the Panthers say Tilis will bring "an analytical approach to the cap and contracts."
Coaching staff takes shape
Four additional members of the Panthers coaching staff were officially announced this week, with the biggest role going to Harold Goodwin, who will work as the assistant head coach/run game coordinator. Goodwin has won two Super Bowls, coaching the offensive line with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bernie Parmalee will take over as running backs coach. Parmalee played in the league for the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins and has spent the past three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's coached with four other NFL teams as well as the Notre Dame fighting Irish.
Rob Moore is now the wide receivers coach. He's worked for the past six seasons across state lines with the Tennessee Titans as a receivers coach.
Joe Gilbert will coach the offensive line for the Panthers. He's familiar with the NFC South, coaching the offensive line in Tampa Bay since 2019.
