Panthers select edge rusher DJ Johnson with 80th pick after trade with the Steelers

Kansas City, Mo. — The Carolina Panthers selected Oregon edge rusher DJ Johnson with the 80th pick of the 2023 NFL Draft after making a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Panthers acquired the third-round pick to take Johnson in exchange for the 93rd pick and the 132nd pick.
Johnson is listed at 6'4" and 260 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds, posted a 32-inch vertical leap and had a 9-foot, 2-inch broad jump. He had 22 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press.
The Panthers now have two picks Saturday, the 114th and 145th overall choices.
