I have little respect for the players-the university has invested time training them, university has spent money(millions) on hiring a staff, that give them the proper training (there is a staff just for care of injuries) specialist for each position to instruct them, they have a platform to display their talents-I hear sports radio jocks, look how much money they produce for the University, high majority of fans buy products because of the name of the front of the jersey first, not necessarily for the name on the back-plus they get a top notch education if they take advantage of it. Suppose a young man joins the military and blossoms into a top notch computer analyst, he has to complete his obligations first!!

The players who are in this position are already getting catered to. They risk getting injured in any game they play but to me, they're quitting on their teammates, their coaches, their fans, etc., when they pull this stuff. Never going to support players like that because it's just wrong to take that approach. Agree with ya about the coaches too. Have zero respect for coaches who tell their players they're not going anywhere only to leave days/weeks later.

Agree also. Your school gives you a full ride and you have one game left to play. Ok you get hurt, but you have a STANFORD DEGREE!!! I remember my last college game like it was yesterday. I hear high school kids do this also. It happened at my high school.

All about mememememe. Can't pull for players like that....ever!
— Posted by DIAMONDBISHOPI hear ya, B. This was my first reaction as well. I tried to look at this from a players' perspective, and they risk making millions if they get injured in a meaningless game. There is the "team first" mentality that seems to be a thing of the past, and I include coaches jumping ship in this category. There aren't many elite athletes that have to make this decision, but I have a ton of respect for the players that DO play in their bowl, like Carolina's Naz Jones.
