part 2 then the Fowler foul up-never was a search so screwed up-missed opportunities (Sean Miller was sitting there but Fowler was looking to hit the long ball) John Calipari took Fowler to the cleaners, Fowler down to his last look settled for Sydney Lowe, finally get rid of Fowler and Debbie Yow (I like Debbie)comes in, then the media starts up again, she ends up settling on Mark G. and Mark was a much better choice than Sydney, Mark has done a good job, has elevated the program since arriving but he to reached his plateau. At this point in time State is not great but is a very good job, their goal is to attain their status again, if State wants to try to get the best coach out there why does the media want to ridicule them for trying, not all, some have actually come to State's defense, it is as if some want to try and keep them from attaining a great coach-its the right time and the right coach can build the Pack back, maybe even to new heights-I have ranted long enough

Gott has done a good job. 2 sweet 16's in 4 years. Heck I will take it. This argument all comes down to BEAT UNC!!!

T - I think "Beat UNC" is more of a football thing for State. Doeren was jumping out of his skin when he beat the Heels this year. I think State probably wants to beat UNC even more than Duke, but if Gott had won enough games, even losing to UNC twice, he'd still be there. He doesn't have a good record against Carolina, but two Sweet 16's kept fans and fat cats happy. This year is a head scratcher. Dennis Smith is the best PG in the ACC. There is plenty of fire power on State's roster. They should have won more games. Last year was understandable - Gott had a very thin bench. This year is entirely different. Something's rotten in Raleigh.

well I think Gott has done a good job but he has hit a ceiling, read an interview with Bobby Lutz after reading I am more convinced, his departure hurt the team a lot, seems he was kind of edged out, but if Yow doesn't get a home run or at least close, no sense in letting Gott go- I think they ought to have a new AD lined
Up and let him in on the process, Yow can hire and be gone before you realize what you got, if you are trying to get a bargain hire an unknown unproven coach and settle for third tier-write check and move on-then again write a big check and move up-T read the article by Al Featherston "why does the media hate NC State"
