  Agree with ya about the common sense thing. Folks can't seem to walk from here to there without getting offended. And then you have the whole "double standard" thing going on.

  Some "victims" may be taking these allegations too far, but saying "there is no common sense" nowadays suggests this world was better off during generations passed. These times are trying, especially with opportunistic liars, but the seeds we reap now were sown long ago.

  I remember years ago - we had a recon dept to recondition cars, guys in the shop were always cutting up, one of the guys played a trick on a new guy, as it turned out the guy was gay and filed a harassment charge-which it was in clean fun, the intent was not harassment but was taken that way-one guy almost lost his job and the other was moved to another dept. Things have changed over the years its not your mommy and daddy's world anymore-there is no common sense, I as have stated who knows this day what is harassment and what is just innocent banter-banter is one thing, harassment is another and assault is completely different, to assault someone you should pay the full price if guilty -many do not!

  Max - agree about the innocent until proven guilty, but the news coming out of Charlotte doesn't bode well for Richardson. There's also racial issues associated with the allegations. Sad, sad way for him to end his legacy with the Panthers. He did a lot of good, but if what is coming out is true, there's also a lot of bad. Not convicting him, but it doesn't look good.

  I will contend he is innocent until its proven guilty-now a days the media will convict you on hearsay - I think he was going to sell the franchise anyway this just hasten his decision-I saw where some rapper said he wanted to buy them and sign Kaper---- whatever, stephon Curry said he was interested, do not need his whiny little buuut hole there-wrong owner could set the franchise back-will see

  Agree, TIZU. My first thought (after the shock of it) was that it must be something other than sexual, but with the information that came out, it looks like it is, and that is so sad. What a way to end his legacy at the Panthers. He was so loved and respected. At least, that's what we all thought on the outside. I wonder if some of this is racial. I hate this for the Panthers organization and fans. It all seemed so cleanly run, with high standards. So sad.

  It is a shame all the things we are hearing that are coming out now about Mr. Richardson. Seems the things we are hearing are actually true. Very unfortunate and I am angry because of it. The last SI article that came out is pretty alarming.

  Very true, Gunny. They're lucky they had the resources and support to push back. Many don't. Hate to hear that about the individual you know. Can't possibly imagine how tough that would be.

  The LAX case at Duke is a life lesson for sure. Everyone was ready to crucify those players, myself included. Thankfully, they had the resources to fight back and prove their innocence. If they didn't have rich, well-connected family, they'd probably be in jail to this day.
  
  Someone close to me was assaulted, sought legal council, and was advised to go through with the case. She wasn't seeking any monetary settlement; she just wanted to be sure this guy would never assault another woman. She was terrified that the guy would go after her, because he knew where she lived. She dropped the case, and it still haunts her. She'll never be the same, and that's very sad. It's all very complicated and difficult. You have cases where the woman is assaulted, and intimidated to do anything about it. Then you have the Duke case, as well as the one involving Percy Morman.

  Agree, Gunny, and if the players are upset because JR advised them they would stand, my advice would be for them to find another line of work. Without having the facts, has the feel of something that may have been said.

  Agree 100%, Max. I feel bad for those who truly are abused and we've seen thousands of examples of that over the years. And then you have false claims which ruin lives in the process, only to determine later nothing happened to warrant such a claim . True story - early in my career, I'm doing some training in ATL, GA. In my hotel room one night watching a Hawks game, there is a knock at the door, I open it & no one is there. Look down and see a condom on the doorknob...made me laugh. Found out later who the female was but I just laughed it off. Had I done that, I'm sure it could/would have been another matter altogether.

  Wow! Did not expect to see this. Hope there is nothing to it but it seems very serious at this point. Hard to believe J Richardson would be involved in something like workplace misconduct. There are legitimate cases and they should be treated as such as there is no place for sexual harassment, racist behavior, etc. Will be interesting to see what this is all about as the facts unfold. Just hope it's not a case of "the boy who cried wolf" just to get attention & make a cash grab. If it's legitimate.........uh-oh!

  I have had close family member that suffered from spousal abusive behavior and would not go thru completing the process- I detest anyone (the abuser) that is that way but it is a thin line when someone is actually suffered abuse or has a vendetta I heard about a running back from Okla. that was accused and it turned out she was trying to get even-don't know if anyone remembers Percy Mormon ( a highly rated QB at State) was accused of rape and do this day I think he was wrongly accused but it ruined his career, he never played a down at State- if it could be proven that someone is wrongly accused, the accuser should be punished severly, many young girls have been raped or assaulted but do not want to take it all the way because of public opinion-that is the shame in all of this. I hope Jerry is innocent but if not he must also face consequenses. A lot these accusations of high profile seems there is a lot of ME TOO going on just to get a headline

  Agree, Max. With all these accusations, I wonder if some are false, and that is the WORST thing a woman could do because it puts doubt on the authenticity of claims by women who truly were abused.
  
  I wonder if this is a sexual harassment issue, though. It could be anything. I remember when all the kneeling during the anthem was going on, and the Panthers players (other than Peppers), all stood. A few of the players said they were concerned about what would happen to their jobs if they knelt, because of Richardson's stance on the matter, as well as Rivera coming from a military family, and North Carolina being a pro military state. Maybe there have been complaints from the players not being allowed to express their opinions. I just don't know.

  when women are physically beaten, hit or any bodily harm that is assault, if some one wears a short skirt or low cut blouse and is complimented they can call it harassment, it is a slap in the face to all women who have truly been abused, I think some are doing for the publicity and some are just piling on. How many time has a candidate started winning and all of a sudden a bunch come out of the woodwork, after he drops out it all goes away. Women in Hollywood will do dress very provocatively on the red carpet to draw attention when someone whistles they are out of line.

  With all the recent allegations swirling around, now Jerry Richardson is being investigated for "workplace misconduct"??? No details have been given, but he's the last person I'd think would conduct himself in any other way than professional and proper. All the players seem to have the utmost respect for him, and I can't imagine what "misconduct"is being investigated. I hope the investigation comes up empty, because I'd hate to think Mr. Richardson's legacy will end with a blemish.
