    Totally agree, Max, and I'm glad Karma bit Vandy in the baseballs. Did you see the picture of the Miss State player showing the "Wolfpack" sign with his hand? Pretty classy. At least Miss State appreciated the Pack. More than I can say for the powers that be in the NCAA making the decision to force State to withdraw.

    Well I think the right outcome come thru, glad for Miss St. would have hated for Vanderbilt to have won, saw some interviews with the Vandy coach, he came across as very arrogant. May be bias but I think the Pack would have beaten Vandy at least one of those games with a full team, the fact that they lost 3-1 with a makeshift squad and a freshman pitcher that wasn't in the rotation. With all of Vandy pitchers well rested, they had an advantage over Miss St. that was not earned. Congrats to Miss St they earned it.

    Yeah, Max, whoever wins this CWS has a huge asterisk next to it. State beat these teams and they're sitting home. They played Friday, it's a game played outside, so it doesn't make sense they couldn't play Saturday. Bitter pill to swallow.

    Its a tough break the Pack-- it also gives Vanderbilt and advantage they had not earned, their pitching staff will be well rested for the 3 game series with Miss St.

    Wow - what a heartbreaking end to a great season. I don't understand why State couldn't play Saturday when they played Friday. Gotta feel for Avent and his team and coaches.

    State has beaten Vandy and Arkansas, and I heard that fans (even from other teams) are loving the Pack in Omaha. Also heard former players from all sports are there to watch - pretty cool.

    Vandy will throw their 2 aces back to back if needed-- there is an element about Vandy that is just to hard to digest, saw some interviews with coaches and players, little smugness about them. UVA is backed against the wall, love to see two ACC teams in the finals.

    I like offense as well, Max, in all sports. Defense may win games, but offense sells tickets and is more fun to watch. This may be State's year to win it all. Good luck to your Pack.

    Roddy is the best! Players love him. He is a players coach. Doesn't get an better than Roddy. Jacob Slavin got the award for the Defensive Player of the Year. Another deserving player and a really good guy.

    Congrats to your Pack on getting the W in their first game in the CWS.

    Oh yeah - Canes were eliminated from the playoffs by Tampa Bay, but Roddy got Coach of the Year! So happy for him!!!

    Hi Max - Well, a lot of talk in the NFL is about Aaron Rodgers and will he play again for GB, yadda, yadda. NBA are in playoffs - so many stars injured because their season started too soon after last year's delayed playoffs due to Covid. Don't care about golf - two high profile golfers are feuding (Dechambo and some Koepka. Yawn. Glad there's only 12 weeks to college football. Good luck to your Pack in the CWS!

    what is going on this summer in sports other college baseball, I could not tell where or what NBA is doing, what is going on with NFL, MLB or NHL, I have tuned out on all Pro sports, Have enjoyed the college baseball playoffs, I do know its less than 12 weeks to College FB, gonna relax and enjoy the next 2 1/2 months of summer and then be ready for FB.

    College basketball is a mess. I totally agree with paying for NIL. That will keep some money above the table, but I don't think for a minute it will stop the greenbacks from being passed under it. The more players that forego college for "greener" pastures, the better I like it. Let them go. Can't stand the one and done model.

    with people like ESPN especially BIlas, crying for players to be paid and how they are taken advantage of. With Transfer portal becoming a tool for players with grudges because they are not playing more, the one and done, college Bsktball is not the same, Presidents, Administrators, Ad. Directors with coaches imput need to tighten the screws on the NCAA or set up their own governing body, treat all schools equally not just the power 5 especially the so called Blue blood School. If a high school player thinks he is good enough for the pro's, let him have a choice - go to the G-league or let him sign up for college and he has to stay at least 3 years, a smart parent will tell him to go college, the greedy parent will say go pro. I have heard let the player sell his jersey and make money on it, got no problem with that, if he sells a blank jersey with only his name the back, if he wants to sell his game jersey with the school on the front, his name on the back, school get a percentage.

    Were you surprised at K's retiring? I thought he'd stick around a little longer, but he'll be 75 when he calls it a day. I think he'll still be involved in college basketball after he retires. Roy sure looked relaxed on the golf course, and as much as I wish he was still coaching, I'm happy for him. These coaches give up so much of their family life during their careers.

    College Base is very competitive-- I may be wrong but I believe Pack would have beat Duke 2/3 series but it is not played that way congrats to Duke, great pitching performance. Pack had great pitching but the bats were iced, same for Duke, Duke pitcher was better on that day. College W/S should be fun, I saw where N.C. had more teams in the W/S than any other State-- Triangle teams, ECU, Charlotte, Campbell, the other slips my mind now.

    Well, all three Triangle schools made it to post season play, albeit on the road at East Carolina.

    Surprised Duke beat State, but we're all starting over now. Surprised at the top 8 seeds, and Arkansas the #1. Don't remember them having much of a baseball history. Clemson didn't even make the cut, and they're usually pretty good. Good luck to the Triangle schools.

    You went to DC to buy a car? What did you get? This gas situation is bad. I'm hoping to find some this week. Glad to live two miles from grocery stores so I can walk if need be, but I sure hope this clears up soon. Too many people panic buying.

    Only game I even look at when the schedule comes out is game one and so on. You already know who you're playing. I haven't even watched or listened to the so called experts. Just play football and see what happens. Why watch or listen because its Tebow and Brady....

    Play football. Every year fans whine about the schedule including my friends .Easy , hard, not many prime time, last four against playoff teams, bye too early, too many one o'clock games, not many four o'clock games. Good lord. 11-0 got us now where with a easy schedule. Now its too hard. I give up..

    Enjoy your beach days, Max, but I hope to see you check in here from time to time. There's always something to chat about. Not a Yankees fan, but I did get a laugh out of the fans busting the Astros you-know-whats when the Astros came to town - they had all sorts of signs about cheating and a lot had inflatable garbage cans to remind them everyone knows how they cheated.

    I agree about Keats, Max. He is a class act and definitely the right guy for the job at State.

    RW does have an ego, as seen when he expressed his desire to leave Seattle (I was hoping Charlotte was on his short list, but it wasn't; no surprise). I think RW is a good guy, great teammate. TOB did have a tough decision, but he made the one that was right for his team. Glad it worked out for all parties. I thought Glennon would have a better NFL career. He's a good guy.

    TOB had a tough choice, loyalty is what it's all about, I don't dislike Russell but he was wrong throwing O'Brien under the bus publicly , very immature, he is older and wiser now, being from a military family I was shocked what he said but as it turned out was best for his career. Water over the dam under the bridge. I think Keatts is the right guy at State, he is showing progress each year. I like Doeren, he is a blue collar guy, family atmosphere, building a brotherhood in football (not the same Duke) can't wait for FB to start, great to actually attend the game.

    I was never a fan of TOB, but I do remember him giving RW the ultimatum of deciding between baseball and football. Choose football, and his spot on the roster is there, Glennon walks after holding the clipboard for what - two years. Don't blame TOB. It was too risky to keep the roster spot open for RW and lose Glennon. It worked out for RW and Glennon. TOB's tenure wasn't going to be much longer anyway. Doeren was out the door until State kicked Carolina's tail back in 2014, making them bowl eligible. Most coaches are hired to be fired.

    I just want Sate to win the ACC for once or at least play for the ACC title and stop thinking its a great year by going to a baby bowl. O'Brien made his choice and he didn't last long after that. The days of athletes playing 2 and 3 sports have past even in high school.
