    July is gonna be very busy, July 4th parades, going to the Lumbee homecoming, later that week, next week N Myrtle Beach, later July going to Atlanta, 1st of August my godfather is gonna have a baby (girl) then it's meet the Pack football, then time to get ready for football, next 6 weeks I'm gonna enjoy summer activities, then head into football.

    Yes - the ACC owes Coach Case a lot. He brought college ball to North Carolina. So much history there. The History of the ACC was a great series, and it does go into what Coach Case did.
    I hate that Wake lost to LSU. Such a great season, being ranked #1, destroying teams in the NCAA's and then falling flat. They won't be remembered outside of the ACC, and what a sad way to end the season. You always want to win one more, but this stings for Wake and their fans.
    Glad you have summer plans, Max. I always feel better when August rolls around, marking the beginning of my favorite sports seasons.

    Wake bats have fallen deaf, hope they wake up tonight. June coming to a close, going to the Lumbee homecoming July 4th week, then the following weekend time at the beach, not gonna sit and twiddle my thumbs and let the summer pass me by, football will be here soon enough. More and more this transfer portal situation po's me, I guess as much screwing up as Emmert did, he decided to give fans a farewell middle finger as he walked out the door. The new ACC commish is about as useless as anyone, I did not like Swofford as he began the process of messing up the ACC, yesterday was Coach Case birthday, he would have 123, he was born in 1900, coach Case never had a contract, it was a verbal agreement from day, although his win total is comparative small by some nowadays, he won close to 800 games in Indiana H.S. whooping John Wooden many times. I do not think Coach Case has to stand behind anyone as far as ACC greatest coaches- He is the father of ACC basketball.

    Florida and Wake would be a hell of a final - probably the two best teams. I really hope Wake wins it all. Not a fan of the SEC.
    Agree with what you said about veterans. This country should be doing anything and everything to honor and take care of the men and women who fought to keep our country free.

    Uva is out but Wake looking strong. Either LSU or Tenn.will have to win, wake just 1. Looks like it may Florida and Wake.

    Virginia and Duke looking good in the NCAA baseball tourney. Hope they make it to the CWS, along with Wake.
    About 10 weeks till kickoff. Don't want to wish my life away, but I can't wait for football.

    No one school in the ACC should receive more money than another school. Talk about divisive. I hate to think the ACC will splinter with teams going to different conferences. I thought the Grant of Rights would prevent that. Someone speculated that the Governor wouldn't allow Carolina to go to one conference and NC State go to a different one. When schools like Duke have a GM for their basketball team, it's not amateur anymore. Duke isn't the only school to do this. There's also talk about high school kids having an NIL deal. Maybe Nike can make a deal with kindergarten kids - nothing should surprise me these days.

    Its like some schools saying we are better than you. I think the power of multiple schools could break the grant of rights, not sure, I am sure ESPN would be tickled if acc was renamed Big East south.

    TOTALLY agree, Max! This Transfer Portal is wreaking havoc on collegiate sports. Coaches don't know one year from the next who will be on their roster.
    There is been talk of seven schools leaving the ACC. I'd hate to see that. I believe the Grant of Rights will make that prohibitively expensive to do. Another thing is some schools wanting a bigger piece of the pie than other schools because they bring in more revenue. The ACC should be unified with all schools getting the same piece of the pie, as they do now. I'm disappointed Bubba is one of the ADs looking for an unequal share. Talk about divisive.
    Collegiate sports sure were more fun in the "olden days".

    There ncaa higher ups have virtually destroyed College sports, I think there is a new head now, I don't see it getting better, there guys entering the portal 2, 3 times there should be limits between seasons and over 4 years how many times.

    Sounds like you have some fun things planned, Max. My brother is going on a baseball vacation with some friends, taking in three games in three cities.
    I'm watching the Canes; the series is 2-1 canes, but New Jersey kicked their tails last game.
    Pretty soon it will be time to start a football thread.

    Kind of bland, delayed going to the coast, going to the mountains, couple of weeks. Yes think Morsell is back, DJ coming back, got some solid transfers, we will see just how good. Next month going to Atlanta,maybe catch a couple Braves games.

    I thought I heard Morsell was coming back.
    Colleges are basically farm teams for the NFL and NBA. I agree that was once an NCAA violation is now legal. I believe there is still money under the table - maybe "helping" a player's family with things like houses and cars. It was a dirty business before and it's a dirty business now. The bluebloods once again have the upper hand with NIL, as they did before NIL was in existence.
    I didn't watch any spring games - I don't think the Carolina game was televised, but the Virginia game was on ACCN. Hope you got to enjoy the State spring game.

    I would like to see, a player has a choice, NIL support have a limit, a player could choose NIL or Scholarship, the present system allows so called blue bloods in FB or BB to have their deep pocket alumni to pay out N.I.L, it's just making what was improper benefits now proper. College sports are using same tactics as before.

    I thought Morsell was coming back. I have no idea who will be the starting 5 for for Carolina, other than Bacot and RJ Davis. I sure hope for a better season next year. I hate to be an old grouch, but I don't like NIL and the portal. The players may as well be employees of the schools they play for.
    Enjoy the spring game - I hope the weather holds up. Warmer weather is ahead - hope you can relax and enjoy.

    Portal season, you try to get pieces to fit the pieces you lost. Losing Clark hurt, Duwona wants more minutes, I wish him the best, Morsell is evaluating his pro status, who knows who the starting five for any big four team next season will not be known till maybe mid summer. Max Out.

    I agree about Dawn Staley and I'm glad they lost. I was hoping Iowa would be the team cutting down the nets. Last night's game wasn't a thriller by any means, but I'm glad for Danny Hurley. I was really hoping FAU would be in the final, even though they wouldn't have won.
    I agree that ESPN has gone downhill. I liked the Mike & Mike days, but Greenberg wanted his own show. Bilas is smart and he can laugh at himself, and so can Seth Greenberg. Greenberg was more humble when he started, but he's feeling himself a little now. They do have good chemistry and I like watching Reece Davis/Alphonzo Ellis/Seth Greenberg/Jay Bilas. I can't stand Marc Packer. Talk about ego. I liked seeing Wes Durham, but that show was dropped by ESPN/ACCN.
    I hope you have a great time relaxing at the beach. Glad you'll get to see the spring game next week - it will give you a bit of a preview of what's ahead for the Pack.

    Tidbits-- for the previous season --the invincable Gameco--s got knocked out ( tired of hearing Dawn Staley's mouth) 48 hours 2023 college BB mens and womens will be history-- going to spring game next saturday -- Less than 5 months till Football opens up. I thinking how bad wll the ACC network screw up schedules this year. For Football and Basketball fanatics its time for hibernation., it would not let spell out S.C.'s nickname--

    I wanted Miami and FAU to win, I guess i will go for San Diego St. If Uconn wins espn will talk about how great the BIg East is. I survived April fools day-- Gonna wash my convertible, it is suppose warmer in a few days gonna put my top down and ride to the coast.

    definitely do not like Bilas he is a pompous A-hole, Greenberg was not a successful coach as was Vitale, they come on TV as if God gift to basketball, ESPN does not even come on my unless it's a basketball game I wanna see, ESPN in the past to has had some decent people but it's in the past, to political, to woke for me. I like Barkley during NCAA tournament but the rest just babble on.

    Max - I just read an article in Yahoo Sports about FAU, and it made me like them even more. They were an independent D-2 school (independent because no conference wanted them). Their facilities were awful. They drove a mini-van to away games that leaked and broke down. They had to compete with schools like FSU and Miami for recruits. It was hard to get more than 300 people to watch a basketball game. They started out having only juniors and seniors at the school because it was believed community colleges could get students ready the first two years. It's amazing how far they've come, and they had to fight so hard to get to the Final Four. What a story they are! Used to be called FA-Who back in the day. I'm really happy for them.

    I would love to see Miami win it as well, but I don't see that happening. I would also like to see Florida Atlantic to win it if Miami doesn't. They'd be the first 9-seed in tournament history to win. I don't dislike UCONN, and I have a soft spot for the Hurley family. I liked Bobby, even as a Carolina fan. He was the anti-Laettner - he always looked kind of rumpled, and not like the cover of GQ magazine like Laettner. ESPN doesn't give that much attention to the NCAAs, I guess because they don't have rights to the men's games. In the heat of the NCAAs, ESPN was still debating where Aaron Rodgers would be playing. They've gone downhill in my opinion. I record two shows in the afternoon - Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption. I do watch Game Day because I like Seth Greenberg and Bilas and Alphonzo Ellis. They are informative and entertaining.
    Glad you're going to take some time for R&R and plan to enjoy the summer.

    By Monday we know who wins NCAA championship, i would for ACC to win it. If Miami doesn't win it I would like Fla. Atlanta to get it then,anybody but UConn, ESPNs poster child team. I never liked UConn, Calhoun was an first class A-hole.

    5 months! That's an eternity. I don't watch golf and I'm not into baseball the way I used to be, so I'll be looking forward to August when things start up again. Once football gets rolling, basketball isn't far behind. I have UCONN winning in my brackets, but I don't have the other three teams still playing. I hadn't realized UCONN has a history of being really good - 4 Nattys since 1999. I'm pulling for Miami - for the ACC and Laranaga seems like a really good guy. Happy for the Canes.
