It was a great, Pack together a good run, Louisville played great but Pack played solid even without Horne. The Syracuse game, Syracuse players had an attitude, couple of their players, I think it was Copeland and the little guard- were talking trash back at the State bench when they scored but it Backfired, Duke game Duke played tough but Burns was just too much for their front line, the unsung hero was Diarra, Middlebrook played solid also. The Uva game was a war, we got a break and took advantage of it. I have noticed O'Connell was starting to get more playing as the season progressed, He has really become a good steady player. In UNC game, Burns was almost unstoppable, solid efforts Horne and O'Connell really helped but Morsell was the key I thought his defense on Davis was key.

Happy Birthday, Max! Your Pack sure gave you a nice present! Congratulations to State. No one gave them a chance. They overcame so many obstacles to win the ACC. Good luck to them in the NCAAs. I was very disappointed in Carolina's showing on Saturday. Did they expect State to be too tired to compete? They had no answer for Burns. They couldn't make shots, especially the 3. Cormac Ryan kept jacking up 3's when he should have gone for the two pointer. Carolina is on a collision course with Arizona, and that will be interesting if Carolina even makes it that far, because Caleb Love is on that team. I have a feeling the selection committee did it on purpose. I don't see anyone beating UCONN. But at least all the Triangle teams are dancing. I feel bad for Wake and worse for Pitt because they certainly are a tournament team. The ACC didn't get much respect.

Late Friday as the clock was getting ready to roll over to March 16 (my birthday) we finished off Uva less than 24 hours put the final touches on securing the ACC crown. Hell of a birthday.

I won't confuse this team with 83, it would be nice to them make a nice run in NCAA. With the almighty net as it's driving force, ESPN was trying to influence people. I will give the crew on the ACC net credit, they said go by the body of work not the Net. I believe Pitt was deserving.

After beating Syracuse, think he was safe, beating Duke surely put him on the right side. Winning the acc, put a big feather in his cap.

Well, Max, who would have thought the ACCT Final would be between State and Carolina. State is sure on a mission. Hope this saves Keatts job.

Conferences are looking for the $$$ so they like to expand. It's all about the money - from the TV deals to the schools to the NIL. These teams are basically farm teams for the NFL and NBA. There's not much "student" in the "student athlete" equation. I hope State wins on Monday.

I think NC legislature could override the BOG, who knows, in some ways if the ACC implodes, then let teams go wherever, I think conferences should ban together instead of letting ESPN dictate all, the universities have the product, networks need the product

Agree about the antics from some players. Filipowski managed to play last night. While I don't wish him bad, the entire thing was overblown. Can you imagine if K was still Duke's head coach? I recorded the K/Roy meeting; I'll probably watch it tonight. They had their moments of animosity, but it seems they put it behind them. I REALLY hope State beats Duke when they play, which is soon. I'm always sad when the basketball season ends, but maybe it won't bother me as much this year. When the season is over, no one will remember Carolina or State. Wake will be remembered for the court storming. I just read that the UNC System BOG will have the final say on teams leaving the ACC. It will be interesting to see what happens with FSU. Some have predicted if they leave it will be the end of the ACC. Maybe, but with this new rule in place, State and Carolina won't be able to leave the ACC very easily.

I think Howell is a much better QB than Maye, when Maye started playing tough defenses in the second half of the season last 2 year he struggled. B B has been hard to watch last couple of years, the antics players exhibit at times, Syracuse has been one of the worse, bad thing is ESPN promotes it. In a month BB is gone, summer around the bend.

Max - I agree the luster is off college ball - for me, it's both basketball and football. The NIL and transfer portal have just ruined it for me. I used to know all the players from every ACC team, but that was back when players stayed 3 -4 years and the ACC was 9 teams. Adding those west coast teams have made it worse, at least for me.
State can still make the Tourney, but they have their work cut out for them. They can beat any team in the ACC. This year, it seems any team can beat any team.
I am very happy for Wake, but it is a shame all people are talking about is the court storming. Wake could have done a better job for sure, and allowing the students on the court before the athletes have left safely is very concerning. Fillipowski clearly stuck his foot out at the Wake fan heading his way, which didn't help for his safe exit.
I can't get excited for Carolina football. Maye is gone, and Brown is still the head coach.

State won't make it, acc maybe 5 possibly 6, I can't get interested in BB like I used to, 40 years ago, it was appointment tv for me, I have started liking FB a lot better, started going to games, tailgating was great at CFS, latch onto FB early 80's, Sheridan got me hooked, KK may be gone but unless they make a splash hire, it won't matter. Rick Barnes or Kelvin Sampson, make them an offer they can't refuse. Spring game is in 55 days.

On one of the TV's I have a terrible time watching the CW - it freezes a lot. Same with CBS. I like Giminski as well. This is a different ACC - any team can beat any team. Miami loses very badly to Virginia - scoring less than 40 points, then takes Carolina to the wire. I still think Duke will win the ACC. I see Carolina as a 3 or 4 seed, depending on how they finish the season. State is on the bubble; hope they win enough to make it to the Tourney. Keatts may be in trouble if they don't make it.

it's hard for me to get CW, I like their announcers better espn/acc-- Tom Werme is one of the best, the ESPN/Acc announcers are to busy trying to have a conversation during the game.

Max - have you heard the latest? ESPN, FOX, WARNER are joining forces to have a sports package. It's projected to cost up to $50 a month. If you have HULU, things may not change, but what is going on in the sports world?
Aside from that, Carolina lost the games before and after the Duke game.
I don't like that games being shown on the CW. I like Giminski, but don't care for the coverage the CW provides.
Are you going to watch the Super Bowl? Even that is ruined by the Kelcey/ Swift romance. How about some sports without the drama.

Espn is turning me off more and more, swoffard sold the acc out, now espn with Accn (it's not actually acc network) controls 90% of acc schedules, what time they come on, when they are played, overlaps games, BB and FB rules are changed to provide espn ample time for ads.

Well, last night was pretty disappointing. I figured Carolina was ripe for a loss. They needed second half comebacks in the Wake and FSU game. I have a bad feeling about the game against Duke on Saturday. Bacot has disappeared. He plays good defense, but his double doubles are in the rearview. Not sure why. There's no great teams in the ACC. A team may go on a hot streak, but they can lose just as easily. I don't like when Game Day comes to the Smith Center. It's a big distraction.

Approaching February, BB will be hitting the stretch, the portal has been good for Pack in FB but brutal for BB, I think DD is getting the type of player that will buy in to the team concept where as KK is going for best player he can find, it has been hit and miss, last year with Joiner hit, this year not so much, I think there could some leaving, Breon Pass, L Thomas and maybe Ernest Ross, I really wouldn't blame them.

Yeah Max I saw that the Board of Governors and the President of the UNC system can block Carolina and State from leaving the ACC and that they will want to keep State and Carolina together.

That State/Wake game was one for the ages. I didn't expect it to get so heated. I've never seen Keatts so hot. Have to hand it to State: everything was going against them and they pulled out the win.
Sorry I've been so late in posting. I had shoulder surgery last week. Not fun but this too shall pass.

Very bizarre game, WF and Pack, solid defense overcame poor offense, 6 technicals, refs lost control early in this one.

I was leaning toward FSU staying but now heck let them go. Clemson can follow if they want to, NC legislative branch has no control over Duke and Wake but State and Unc will be joined at hip, I think the legislators will want to keep them in Acc, bring in WSU and Oregon St call it the American coasts conf. Still ACC.

Pack will finish above .500 - they have good potential. Carolina is a LOT better than last year. This team has fight. Duke seems to have the highest ceiling, and I think they may be the best in the ACC. Clemson has improved and got some good players through the Portal. My absolute favorite days of the year are the first Thursday and Friday of the Tourney. Nothing like it.
I think FSU is headed out. They made noise over the summer, and considering what happened with the playoffs, I think they're gone. Question is, where will they go. I don't think the SEC wants them. Bubba was very careful in how he worded his answer when asked about Carolina leaving the ACC; he kind of left the door open. I don't think Carolina can leave without taking State with them. They're a package deal. I can't imagine being in another conference - it's always been the ACC. So much history with Everett Case. Things are changing so quickly, so anything is possible.

Questions-- for 2024- will Pack finish above .500 in conference, Will Clemson spoil Unc and Duke chance for Championship- who will be the surprise team. Will Pack women be able to sustain there early success. Spring: rumors will be abound about football-- this will lead into summer and long leisurely time spent at mountains and beach, then all the football excitement will begin and lead us into the holiday season. Will FSU still be in the ACC, will Clemson be next-- will NC State and Unc follow.- 2024 has not come to birth but looking forward to your entry.
