Pittsburgh Steelers release former UNC QB Mitch Trubisky

The Pittsburgh Steelers released former North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Mitch Trubisky on Monday.
The Steelers announced Trubisky's release along with offensive lineman Chuks Okorafor and punter Pressley Harvin III.
Trubisky, 29, leaves a cap hit of about $4.6 million in 2024, according to Spotrac.com. He was set to count more than $7 million against the team's cap in 2024 and more than $8 million in 2025.
Since 2022, Trubisky played in 12 games for the Steelers. The team had a 2-5 record in the games Trubisky started.
As a member of the Steelers, Trubisky completed 64.1% of his pass attempts. He threw eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
