Chapel Hill, N.C. — On April 18, Sylvia Hatchell had a choice: sign a resignation settlement with North Carolina or be fired.
She chose to step down after a university investigation into the women's basketball program. Thursday morning, we spoke with Coach Hatchell on the final day of her basketball camp, which was held at Carmichael Auditorium, where she was head coach for the Tar Heels since 1986.
Hatchell talked about her time at UNC, the allegations and her thoughts about them, how she reacted after resigning and what's next for her. She also had another emotional moment earlier this week with she became a grandmother for the first time.
