Since the coronavirus pandemic started, many athletes have decided to give back to their communities to try to soften the diseases blow.
Health care workers on the front lines fighting this virus have been put in dangerous situations but continue to show up everyday to try to care for COVID-19 patients. But who steps in to care for the health care workers?
In walks Coby White.
Wednesday, White donated food from McCall's BBQ Restaurant in Goldsboro to Wayne UNC Health Care workers on the night shift. White is just the latest athlete to use his fame, money and influence to try to uplift the spirits of the folks working hard in medical facilities.
Many of the food donations have been given to day-shift workers, not leaving much for those working overnight. So now the night shift workers can say they've had something special done for them.
Since being drafted top 10 in last year's NBA Draft, the Goldsboro native has turned heads. The rookie Chicago Bulls player averaged 13.2 points. 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game before play was stopped in the NBA due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many see the former Tar Heel as an important piece to the Chicago Bulls rebuild.
