Holly Springs diver Andrew Capobianco placed 10th in the individual diving final on Tuesday morning at the Tokyo Games, continuing what's been a memorable Olympic run.
Capobianco placed 10th out of 12 swimmers with a score of 401.70. USA Diving congratulated Andrew for the top-10 finish on Twitter.
Capobianco competed in the 3-meter synchronized and individual diving events. Last week, Capobianco and Michael Hixon won the silver medal in men’s 3-Meter Synchronized Diving.
Previously, Capobianco finished 17th in the preliminary individual diving event, as the top 18 qualify for the semifinal. Capobianco had 385.5 points and was the lone American to qualify.
"I'm feeling really confident about the individual competition," Capobianco told WRAL last week. "I haven't had the ability to compete individual competition too much on the world stage."
Capobianco went on to swim at Indiana University after graduating from Holly Springs in 2017.
