  Yeah, Max, I'm so sick of ND getting to pick and choose and have their way with the ACC. ND is pushing for Cal, Sanford to get into the ACC. Either you're in or you're out, ND. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

  I don't like all the pre-season hype. Puts too much pressure on the players. I heard this week that State and Carolina are and will always be mediocre teams. Not bad, but not great, as in winning it all.

  2 years ago it was Howell, last year it was Leary, all this preseason bull is just that bull. Maybe Pack DC misquoted himself, maybe best he has ever had but it's all hearsay. Just like Leary, I think Maye is a solid QB, in Learys previous year, nothing jumped out to me to quality him as preseason POY but the média loves to write about stuff, I just hope Armstrong has à solid year, actually looking forward.to see M.J. play but redshirt him this year. I'm wondering how the 3rd Thomas will work out. Watched couple games this week. IS.N.D. that good or Navy that bad, Hartman was solid but made critical throws that he won't get away with later. Pack will be his first ACC test, later he gets Wake. Question theres à hefty fee.to leave conf does that apply to N.D. also.

  Yes Max -let the games begin! I hope the weather cools off a bit - it's way too dangerous to play in this heat and humidity.
  It will be interesting to see how things shake out. Carolina is getting attention because of Drake Maye, but they have continuously underachieved under Mack. Hope the defense and O-Line are better than last year or it won't go well for them. I read that the DC for State said this is the best defensive unit he's ever seen. Duke is supposed to be really good, but they have a tough schedule so their W/L record may not be as good as last year. Their HC is good. I really liked Cut, but it was time for a change.

  Approaching the end of summer, the beginning of football, not sold on FSU being a power, I think they will be better, Clemson will be the top team. The 3 FLA. Schools have been mediocre of late. UGA is starting to steal some of bama's thunder. The ACC top 7 teams Clemson, Duke, UNC, NCSU, FSU, Louisville, Miami, not in that order let the games begin

  Totally agree about ND. They shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose from the ACC buffet. Time to fish or cut bait with them. I liked Mike Brey, but he had enough and left. I don't care about their "vaunted" football team. Been a long time since "win for the Gipper".

  Who hires the commissioner, Ad's. Chancellors, Présidents, honestly I don't blâme Clemson or FSU. Acc has had chances to add good teams in the past, SEC has always had a solid commissione, I think big 10 AD's run that conference, commissioner is just a figure head. BIG 12 has gotten an aggressive commissioner, has off to him. It's time for an ultimatum on N.D. They are in all but football but they get a voté and à football bowl spot, it's time to cut that monkey loose.

  Jim Phillips is not a good Commissioner for the ACC. His legal woes stemming from the Northwestern issues may result in him stepping down, and I would be happy to see him go. He's just not effective. Like you said, he's sitting on his hands. He isn't keeping up with the times. He still believes more in the "student" part than the "athlete." part of the equation. That's a nice concept, but it isn't the way college football and basketball operate these days.

  The ACC isn't much of a Power 5 Conference anymore. It's all about the Super Conference B1G, SEC and Big 12. I saw an interview with Bubba Cunningham where he was asked if Carolina would leave the ACC. He side stepped giving a definitive answer. I don't think anything will happen for a while because it would cost $$$ to leave the conference now. I'm looking at you, FSU. There's talk of football splitting off and forming their own entity. College ball is basically a farm team for the pros anyway, so I don't really care. Like you, I will watch the games.

  They did look pretty bad. The O-Line is being blamed. If they don't fix that ongoing issue, it doesn't matter who the QB is - he'll be running for his life. The Jets did have more starters in than the Panthers, but that O-Line is a concern. With a completely new regime, I have hopes for an improvement. I do like Bryce Young (I still think his size is a concern), he is completely different than Cam Newton - very personable, humble and smart. Let's hope the Panthers can make this #1 pick pan out.

  I understand 4 members voted no to Stanford and Cal, of the 4 pac 12 teams left, I would prefer, Oregon St. and Wash. St but thats a long ways, I could get on board with SMU, Maybe South Fla. I afraid Phillips has sat on his hands watch this happen, Swoffy proceeded to add Miami,VT, Pitt,Syracuse, Louisville and BC, afterwards proceeded to give ESPN the freedom to run the ACC according to which way they please, the ACC network is nothing more window dressing, they pick and choose games for ABC- Espn and Espn 2 and Espn U, ACC has no control over anything --- anymore, it was a bad deal form the start, ACC gets chicken feed compared to SEC and Big 10 and even the Big 12 now. That being said I will prepare to watch the season as always for each game at a time.

  The ACC is reportedly interested in offering Sanford and Cal membership to the conference. Huh? The new ACC: The "A&P Conference". I feel for the PAC12. It's all about the $$$ and their powers that be couldn't find a TV deal (Apple streaming - really??) so schools jumped ship to the Big 12 and B10. Looks like college sports as we knew it are flaming out fast. Long live the ACC.

  Oh yeah, Max! So glad we're almost there. I know you don't watch the NFL, but that gets going this weekend. The pre-season games don't mean much, but it's still football, and I'll take it.

  Saw a lot the the ACC Kickoff meeting that was held in Charlotte on YouTube. Some really good interviews. Duke's QB is such a nice young man. The BC HC has a great personality. Virginia is picked last in the ACC. Most are favoring Clemson and FSU, but giving some attention to State, Duke and Carolina as second tier teams. Should be an interesting season.

  I think TOB was completely justified to let Wilson go. Glennon was the future, and when RW wouldn't commit to playing just football, what else was TOB supposed to do.
  The thing I didn't like about Doeren was when he whined about having the youngest team in FBS. He very may have had the youngest team, but don't complain about it. His record that year was terrible, but that is understandable and he didn't deserve criticism. I didn't care for Fedora, but the year when there were so many injuries, he never made an excuse. I'm glad he's gone, but I did respect that about him. I like Mack, but Carolina has underperformed under his watch. So many talented QBs and not much to show for it. Drake Maye is such a good kid. No one could have blamed him for entering the portal, but he's stayed with Carolina. I hope he doesn't get injured this year because he's projected to be the #2 draft pick.

  It has changed so much, I thinks lot of the old time coaches would be po'd at times times now days, I know most opposing fans do not like Dave D. and a few Pack fans but I think he is a good guy, blue collar type guy, has genuine love for the players. I liked coach O'Brien, he was a no non sense kind of a guy, the Russell Wilson situation didn't sit well with some Pack fans but he was put in tight situation, Wilson would not commit to Spring Ball and O'Brien could not depend on him being there for the next season, with the baseball contract and all. I like Russell, he was an outstanding QB but Glennon was probably gonna leave so he committed to him, Russell has showed some animosity toward O'Brien but he needs to look in the mirror first.

  Dick Sheridan was a good coach and an even better man. RIP. I wonder what the old time coaches would think of the current state of affairs in college sports.

  An ACC legenodd has passed away- Dick was one of the better people in all of sports, Dick did everything with class, I think the Pack have been fortunate over the years having class people leading their programs, Earle Edwards, Lou Holtz, Dick Sheridan, Chuck the chest, Tom O'Brien, and now Dave Doeren, good blue collar kind of people. RIP Dick you were a good man.
