Behind a strong effort from middle blocker Rachael Chambers, the Patriots swept the Trojans in volleyball.
West Carteret is taking this postseason set by set, which is good when your sets look the way they did on Saturday in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A volleyball playoffs.
The Patriots rolled visiting Harnett Central 3-0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-12) behind excellent serve-receive, good passing, and powerful kills put down by Rachael Chambers and company.
The Trojans ended their year 10-15 overall.
The Patriots (21-3) will host 13th-seeded South Johnston in the second round on Tuesday. The Trojans finished second in the Quad County Conference.
