With the N.C. High School Athletic Association basketball playoffs beginning this week, all teams in the state of North Carolina are officially in postseason mode.

In the next-to-last HighSchoolOT basketball rankings, the Vance and Garner girls are No. 1, as are the North Mecklenburg and Farmville Central boys.

Vance and North Mecklenburg were last ranked No. 1 after the second week of the season. When Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools were put on an athletics pause for three weeks, they were dropped from the rankings and have been working their ways back to the top ever since.

Here are the newcomers to this week's rankings:

  • West girls — No. 6 Lake Norman, No. 9 Providence.
  • East girls — No. 24 Pine Forest, No. 25 Chapel Hill
  • West boys — No. 14 Harding, No. 18 Rocky River, No. 24 Hough, No. 25 Charlotte Catholic
  • East boys — No. 19 Kinston, No. 23 Laney, No. 24 Northwood, No. 25 St. Pauls
