Boys Tennis Rankings: Four teams join top 25 at end of regular season; nine join area code rankings

At the end of the regular season, Providence has jumped into the top spot of the HighSchoolOT rankings.

Providence Day, the previous No. 1, fell to Cannon School. The two sit more second and third.

Hough is the lone newcomer to the top 10 after moving up from 22nd.

Lake Norman Charter, Chapel Hill, Pinecrest, the Southeastern Cardinals homeschool team, and South Point are in while Panther Creek, Franklin Academy, Hickory, and Croatan fell out.

Nine new teams join the area code top 15 rankings.

Rankings reminders:

• Rankings are updated three times — midseason, end of the regular season, and final rankings
• All high schools in the state of North Carolina, excluding athletic training academies, are eligible for the statewide top 25
• There is a separate top 15 for the state's six area codes that is also three times
• Rankings are paused during the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs
• Final rankings are released the week after the state championships
