Girls tennis rankings entering the postseason, with new HSOT format

The HighSchoolOT rankings are changing.

The new format for all team sports will have a statewide top 25, followed by six top-15 rankings from each of the state's area codes. The old East/West top 25 is being phased out at the end of the fall sports season, starting with girls tennis.

Myers Park leads the way in the first statewide rankings, as well as the 704.

Other area code No. 1 teams are Green Hope in the 919, New Hanover in the 910, Page in the 336, Rocky Mount in the 252, and Asheville School in the 828.

HSOT Statewide Top 25

Myers Park is the only team to have beaten Marvin Ridge and Charlotte Country Day, which is why they're 1-2-3. Green Hope and Durham Academy round out the top five. The top-ranked teams by clasification are: Myers Park (4A West), Charlotte Country Day (NCISAA 4A), Green Hope (4A East), Cape Fear (3A East), Cape Fear Academy (NCISAA 3A), Asheville Trailblazers (NCHEAC), and Mount Airy (1A West).
