Weddington, Farmville Central take No. 1 in final boys basketball rankings

Two undefeated N.C. High School Athletic Association boys basketball state championship teams are taking home the top spots in the final HighSchoolOT rankings.

Two undefeated N.C. High School Athletic Association boys basketball state championship teams are taking home the top spots in the final HighSchoolOT rankings.

Weddington, which went 18-0 en route to the 3A title, finishes as the top team in the West, while Farmville Central, which went 15-0 en route to the 2A title, is the top team in the East.

The West rankings feature two N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association state champions in No. 2 Cannon School (4A) and Victory Christian Center (1A) as well as three NCHSAA runner-up teams: No. 4 Ardrey Kell (4A), No. 8 Hendersonville (2A), and No. 16 Lincoln Charter (1A).

The East rankings have three champs total: No. 1 Farmville Central, No. 2 Millbrook (NCHSAA 4A), No. 3 The Burlington School (NCISAA 2A), and No. 12 Wilson Prep (NCHSAA 1A).

One of the teams in the final East rankings, No. 8 South Central, went 13-0 but was forced to quarantine before entering the playoffs.
