D.J. Burns, a 6-9 275-pound post player, announced on social media Wednesday he is transferring from Winthrop to play for the Wolfpack next season. Burns was the Big South Conference Player of the Year last season, averaging 15.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 62.6 percent from the field.
