  At least you're headed toward cooler weather, Max. Cleveland does have some of the best, most loyal fans. I thought it was great when LeBron returned to the Cavs and got a ring. Cleveland needed that. Have a great vacation!

  keeping busy, as we get closer to Kickoff- lots going on 1/3 of July is gone - going upstate New York in the next couple of weeks-my route takes me thru Cleveland may stop by in Cleveland have always had a soft spot for Cleveland, it gets such a bad rap-some of the greatest sports fans anywhere.

  I used to catch Taylor Zarzour when he was on 850 The Buzz back in the day. Used to watch Billy Packer when he called basketball games. He got in trouble in '08 when he declared "this game is over" during the Carolina/Kansas NCAA game. It WAS over, but Carolina did scratch their way back to within four points before they were blown out. But CBS didn't appreciate Packer basically telling viewers to change the channel because the game they were watching was over. Used to listen to Tim Brando on 99.9 years ago when he came on at 12 (I think). Then they had Mark and Mike on at 3. Adam Gold used to host alone on 850 The Buzz for a while. I don't have Sirius, so all I have is the standard 99.9 and 99.3 and 620 The Bull.

  haven't listened to any of them 99.9 listen to Packman and Taylor Z on XM-Glenn is just an idiotic tool, self absorbed, Gold and Josephine are just idjuts-when your show is so bad, you're trying to drum up controversy it is pitiful 99.9 is dead to me.

  Golic and Wingo pretty much avoid politics, so I'll tune in to them. I think you and I have the same opinion of DG, and I've been avoiding his show for a while. I don't usually listen until 3. I disagree with their political views, but I do catch part of their show each day.

  this disrespecting flag, anthem and so is getting out of hand, athlete irregardless of what sport are afforded the opportunity to make insanely amounts of money and most whine like little girls when they think they are offended, yet they can be some of the more offensive people around, I will watch college sports, MLB so far has been ok but NHL,NBA,NFL I do not watch, not into soccer at all.

  Not into horse racing either, Max. There's rumbling that a horse that could have beaten Justify was held out of the race so Justify could win the crown. It will be interesting to see what happens.
  
  I'm not a fan of bringing politics into sporting venues (kneeling or staying in the locker room) or award shows, like Deniro did. I can't separate the flag from our Military. Disrespect the flag and anthem, and it's disrespecting our Military

  not into horse racing but that was nice to see a another triple crown, I think a lot of athletes show their political leanings when they do things like disrespect the nation and refuse to go to the white house- I think this could be good for college football as more will focus on saturday instead of Sunday-

  summer always has been my favorite time of the year, there are thing to do but in the back of my mind is always football, now I like basketball but its not a can't wait till it gets here, I love the period between Memorial day and labor-Memorial day is special to me (having lost family members in the past and the loss of my fellow Marines and other branches ) the beaches, golf lumbee celebration down in Robeson county, July 4th there is always something popping up-its a nice segway from spring until fall

  It was a sloppy Derby with the wet track, but those parties are fun. Not my favorite time of year for sports. Keep up with the NBA on ESPN only - don't watch the games. I hope Brind A'mour can bring excitement and success back to the Canes. Tired of Curry and the Warriors - hope another team wins it all this year.

  been gone for a few days, saw the nationals play phillies on friday may 4, cinco party on saturday followed by a viewing party for Kentucky Derby, pick 2 horses that were 2 of the favorites-they finished last and next to last.

  Sounds like you have a heck of a weekend planned next weekend, Max! A neighbor had a Derby party a few years ago. It was a lot of fun, and everyone did get dressed for the occasion. Mint juleps were served - not my thing. Heard there was a horse named after Gronkowski, but like his namesake, he's injured and won't be able to race in the Derby.
  
  Bradley Chubb will go really early - maybe top 5. Wish the Panthers had an early first-round pick for him, but it's not the case. I'm not expecting a good season in Charlotte, unfortunately.
  
  Have a great weekend, Max. This is the doldrums of sports for me, but it gives me more time to get things done around the house. I'm surprised Yurtsaven is transferring. I thought he did very well this past season with Keatts.

  I didn't realized NBA was in playoffs-don't care-I will spoting the NFL draft, casual watch golf, will watch Nascar, next weekend invited to a Kentucky Derby party in DC, my first, I am told everyone dresses up to watch Derby after Derby it will morph into a cinco de mayo party, we are going to a Nationals game Friday night should be a full weekend,then back to NC

  Everything seems to take a back seat to football and basketball. The NBA is in the heat of their playoffs, and the NFL draft is this week. I won't watch the draft, and I only keep up with the playoffs via ESPN. Bradley Chubb will be cashing some big fat checks this season as he's projected to be a top-5 pick.

  Max - I don't see much of consequence happening. Forget which school in California hired Gott, but they may not even have an issue with it. Looking at all that is going on, it just doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

  The fact that Gottfried and Smith are both gone, I'm not sure what the NCAA will do, especially considering it's an FBI item now, and the NCAA shies away from those issues. Smith was one of the best PGs in the country, but there were obviously chemistry issues on the team. The players that returned with a brand new coach with a completely different game plan thrived and had a very successful year. State is better off with Keatts by far.

  hope the Pack can win the series against ND this weekend, I am really not worried about DSJ situation, if a coach had anything to do with it he is either gone or will get fired, he wanted to decommit then let him, take the lumps and move forward, I think we would have been better with Markell Johnson and Cat running the point last year, I like Smith but it became all about him at some point, he was only gonna be there one year, if they had not got him I think Cat would have stayed.

  He a media creation, I don't think he create a lot of buzz from the regular golf fan, it is the fringe fan that will be attracted, a lot are watching to see if he crashes which he probably will do. I do not care for a lot of the young stars playing golf today, they are prima donna's -Spieth is mainly a complainer, whines about course conditions, do not care for him, will pull for some of the blue collar guys-like the guy from Ireland last year Andrew "Beef"Johnson now that's a guy i can root for, Jason Day and Jason Duffner, got to keep up with Pack baseball now, surprising better than was suppose to be.

  I'm not a fan of golf, and you're right about all the attention to Tiger. They say if he plays the ratings skyrocket. I'm doing the countdown to kickoff, and it's a long way off, unfortunately. Bradley Chubb will be making some serious money this season. Wish the Panthers were in the running for him, but he'll be long gone by the time they get to pick. They have been making some strange decisions with regards to who they are dumping and who they are adding to their roster. Not expecting much this year. Maybe a new owner will breathe new life into the organization, and I hope the same for the Canes new owner, who does look like a go getter.

  Its Augusta week, for the last couple of weeks all the sports media have been doing the tiger woods thing again-mainly because he had a couple of good tournaments, he neither Phil will win the Masters mainly because there is a lot of good young players out there, I don't even think they will be close but will make some shots to give some oohs and aah's, the game especially the Master doesn't need them, the course and the event is a stand alone and is greater than any one golfer (including Jack and Arnie) I will watch some but not like a use to.The reverence for the game is not the same.
