I think they rotate between the four channels, Max - TBS, TNT, TRU, and CBS. Agree that the Ff and championship games should all be on over-the-air channels, not cable. I watched both games, and bailed on the Villanova/Kansas game in the second half when 'Nova was up by 20. The Michigan/ Loyola game was actually better until mid-way through the second half. At any rate, I think Nova will take care of Michigan easily. It starts at 9:20, and unless it's a really compelling game, I'll record the second half as well as One Shining Moment (athough that is becoming pretty predictable as far as what's going to be in it).

Now that the Olympics are long gone, the Panthers forum remains missing in action - doesn't make sense.

wonder why NCAA tournament semi's were on TBS, there would be a lot eyeballs if it were on an over the air channel like CBS-it was on TBS I did not watch, the finals is on TBS so I am finished NCAA BB games this year

Unfortunately, the best game is on late, Kansas/Nova. That should be a championship game. The Women's Final Four has all the number one seeds playing.

Top 25!!! Wow. Don't know where I'm ranked, but I know it can't be anywhere near that. I have Villa Nova winning it all in one of my brackets, and Michigan in another. But I also had VIrginia, Michigan State, and Duke, and we know how all those worked out!

I will probably watch games Saturday off and on and same way Monday night, I notice K always brings in assistants from the Duke family tree, with the exception of Bray, most have not been overall success, Tommy Amaker has been average at best, Quin Snyder a failure, Capel really has not wowed people, Wojo and Collins have been ok, have not seen lots of offers thrown their way. Will Nate James be next to leave the nest or is he waiting on K to leave.

I was ranked in the top 25 of over 4000 local participation but was way behind the others -Been proud of the Pack this month-Wrestling, Swimming, Gymnastics winning championships, Track and field doing good, ranked # 6 in Learfield cup and Baseball team on fire, BB didn't do as well as i would have liked but they had a good year exceeeding expectations

Saw those brackets as well, and theirs are as bad as mine. I did seven different ones, and some have two FF teams left. Loyola and Virginia busted most people's brackets. Next year, I'm doing one by mascots and one by team colors, and those will probably beat the ones I research!

Maybe this is the plan, to see how he does at Pitt, it does tell you they were not even close to turning over the team to him, I am sure he was told to take the Pitt job to see how he does, if he gets the job at Duke it will be at least 3 years, he must elevate Pitt pretty quick and stay clean. Maybe Scheyer is the man who knows, they may go Chris Collins. It make you think!

  • StunGunn Mar 28, 2018

I'll watch all three remaining games, and just hope for good games.

What do you think of Capel taking the Pitt job? Maybe after he gets head coaching experience K will hand over the Duke job to him?

Duke made inexperience mistakes but had a good year, I can see Kansas going all the way, don't care for MIchigan at all, Villanova is good but will be going for Kansas to win. Finals to be Loyola and Kansas, Kansas will be too tough for them. In reality if something else that is entertaining comes up I will by-pass the finals

The Kansas/Duke game was a fun game to watch, especially after the Villa Nova Texas Tech game, which was a sloppy, grind it out mess. I would think the championship game will be Michigan/Nova, but I certainly didn't see Loyola going this far, or even winning a game in the Tourney they haven't been in since 1985. The Kansas/Nova semi-final may be better than the actual championship game, just as the Kansas/Duke game was better than the Texas Tech/Nova game. Hate to see the season end. From April to late August when football starts up again is a sports dead zone to me, when I do the countdown to kickoff.

    GO LOYOLA CHICAGO!!!!

Pulling for those guys like crazy. They've only lost 5 games this year and are now on a 14 game winning streak. Get it, Sister Jean!!

Love how these guys are playing right now. I REALLY hope they can beat Michigan...but....I see it being Villanova and Michigan in the Championship with Nova winning it all again.

Tough loss yesterday for Duke, but it was a very entertaining game. Duke should have won it in regulation and should have never gone to overtime...mistakes, turnovers, and blown coverage on the ONE GUY you couldn't leave alone yesterday. Good game all around. Looking forward to football season!

Thought Duke would pull out the W against Kansas - it was a good, competitive game. Villa Nova didn't look good at all against Texas Tech yesterday - Tech totally took Nova out of their game, and it was a very ugly game to watch. Would l ove to see Loyola win it all, but I don't see it. Then again, I didn't see them winning a single game, so who knows!

Got relatives in Kansas that are big K-State and Wichita St. fans so I gotta pull against Kansas, I was really hoping for K-State to win last night also pulling Texas Tech to Make it. Well, K-State and FSU have been eliminated. Gotta hand it to this year's Cinderella, Loyola. I do like that none of them are stars, and none will end up in the NBA. Just good kids playing good ball. I think Duke will beat Kansas. I had State beating them in some of my brackets. I don't like K, can't stand Grayson Allen, so I can't pull for Duke. If both advance, the best game might be in the semis, with Duke facing off against Villa Nova. To me, that will be better than anything coming out of either the South or West brackets.

Still on the K-State bandwagon, relatives in Wichita love K-State hate Kansas, have a sentimental attachment to Duke, my brother was a big time Duke fan, he passed away in 94 so I root for Duke thru him unless they are playing the Pack, Love to see K-State, FSU, Duke and Texas Tech go to the final four.

I'm really surprised, and happy, with how well FSU is doing. I had them out in their first game, as they were horrible in road games during the regular season. The four ACC teams that are still playing is a huge surprise. I thought it would be Duke, Carolina, State, and Virginia in the Sweet 16. Hope Clemson, FSU, and Syracuse advance. Don't like K at all. Not a Boeheim fan, but really don't like K anad his one and dones. Or Grayson Allen. K-State beat Kentucky last night. This has been an interesting Tourney.

Most everything is personal insults on those forums, with very little real sports being discussed. Glad we have this forum.

Have you guys heard about the new football league that's set to start next February immediately after the super bowl? It will run from the beginning of February to the end of April. Some rules are different than the NFL, and there will be a lot fewer commercials. Could be interesting, and it gives some guys who don't make the NFL another place to play football. Supposedly, their contracts will allow them to move to the NFL, should they be given an offer.

TIZU, I applaud your effort, but as you can tell, it's useless. There are a few who have taken control of those forums, and they clearly don't want to talk about sports, bashing UNC is their mainstay. To each his own, which is why I'm glad we have this forum. I don't understand why the Panthers forum hasn't been put back up, but at least we have this. I'm surprised WRAL keeps these forums at all. As you remember, it was quite different from 2006 - 2012, with lively discussions, and with the exception of a few, good-natured smack. Now it's just smack. And not the good-natured kind. Oh well.... I hope you keep posting here, and if they ever put the Panthers forum back up, maybe others will return. Toddler and Bishop used to post in the Panthers forum, but when WRAL removed that for the Olympics forum, they haven't come back. A lot of folks stop posting after basketball and return for football.

First time I had been to Reynolds since renovations, they did a hell of a job, seem like a shrine to Jimmy V and Kay Y., I do think they should be honored but was disappointed there was not more there for Coach Case -this building was his idea and he built his legacy and legacy of the building.

Judging by what Keatts has accomplished with players that weren't his, I'd say State is in good hands. Schools definately need to be more patient with their coaches and give them time to develop a team culture, but I think Keatts has already proven he was a home run hire.

  • Maxwell Silver III Mar 18, 2018

I do not think Capel is the answer at Duke, if he gets the job how long will it be before he get them in trouble. I do believe State has found the right man, hoping that I am right, if next year doesn't measure up its ok, give him some space and time.

I always liked Izzo, but he may be giving his players too much leeway. There's also the assault allegations against his player and former player, now an assistant coach, that I question. Winning is everything to some.

Forgot about Boeheim in the coaches retiring soon category. The ACC will look very different sooner rather than later.

Duke taking care of Rhode Island.

  • Maxwell Silver III Mar 17, 2018
    Bench Warmer

Williams, K, Boeheim, Larranaga, retiring soon, Pitt,Louisville and WF probably getting new coaches
BC, FSU, ND set solid I think Buzz Williams, Keatts, Bennett and Brad Brownell are the young guns right now-GT is the only one with a new coach, I don't particular care for him-he has that Calipara connection---one thing I have noticed on sidelines the antics of the players sitting on the bench are getting out of hand, another thing I noticed in the Mich. St. game was MSU was trying bully players, couple of players should have been kicked out, lost some respect for Izzo by not getting on them.

  • StunGunn Mar 17, 2018

Max - Keatts is every bit as classy as Bennett. I heard his post game presser after State lost to Seton Hall, and he was very gracious in congratulating Seton Hall, as well as saying he was proud of his team. Two players also answered questions, and they handled it very well - Al Freeman was one, but I don't remember who the other guy was.

Bennett did say one thing that surprised me last night. He talked about going into the arena and you can either make history in a good way or as the first number one seed to lose to a 16 seed, and "that probably made a lot of people happy". Was surprised to hear him say that. People want to see Duke and Carolina lose, just like they want to see the Yankees lose. But not Virginia - they're not a hated team.

The ACC is going to look very different in the not too distant future. K, Roy, and Laranaga are in the twilight of their careers. Bennett is in his prime, and Keatts , and Buzz Williams are up and coming; the future of the ACC.

  • Maxwell Silver III Mar 17, 2018

State will be fine. Good returning players, and Keatts has proven he can recruit, because he basically had to recruit Abu, Yurtsaven, and others to return. I was surprised that Seton Hall was as good as they were. I didn't know they were a senior-laden team, and that makes all the difference. The team that could have beaten a LOT of teams was BC in the ACC-T. It was nip and tuck all the way through that game, but BC played lights out. Bowen, Robinson, and Chapman are legit players, and the way they played that day, they could have beaten most teams in the ACC. State overachieved this year, and the future is bright. Keatts is a gem. Listened to his post game presser yesterday, and he said so many good things. He's a class act.

  • Maxwell Silver III Mar 16, 2018

disappointing game but not season, Pack just didn't hit on all cylinders in 3 of last 4 games - I got to give kudos to Seton Hall-they would have beaten a lot of teams yesterday even a lot of ACC teams -proud of the Pack's effort -I hope we fortunate to get another player like Al Freeman in our future, that guy played his but off yesterday-don't know what has happen to Abu , he had a horrendous season, Good nucleus coming back next year with some good young talent coming in.

Vilas is definitely becoming preachy. I'm just glad ESPN took Vitale off the Duke/Carolina game, and most ACC games. Nice guy but he just blathers on. Sounds like it was a nice service, Max, but sorry you lost someone.

I don't have any idea who will win it all. Virginia is down an important player in Hunter. Tough time to lose a good player. I didn't think they'd win it all anyway, but I have no idea who will, because while Virginia has been very consistent and solid, the other one-seeds haven't been; ditto the 2-seeds. I have all our teams in the Sweet 16, and depending on my brackets, I have some advancing, and others losing. I just don't have a good feeling about picking any team, as they've all looked vulnerable. I don't buy Michigan State winning it all, although I do have them cutting down the nets in one of my six brackets. Have Arizona, Michigan State, Villa Nova, Virginia, and Duke winning it all, but don't trust any of them to do it. Whenver I l isten to the "experts", I regret it. Glad I don't put any money down!

I saw where Lunardi finally has State as a "lock" in the Tourney. Better late than never. I think State is a 9-seed. Carolina is a 2 or 3, Duke a 2, UVA top 1 seed. I don't think Syracuse, ND, or L'Ville make it, unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong.

Tony Bennett said that his team doesn't get enough credit for the offense, and stressed that they all buy into the system, and that's why they're successful. Hard to argue. Their defense was suffocating, and they drain the clock before taking a shot. Carolina played them better at the Barclays Center than they did in Charlottesville, but it's still a loss. I don't know what to expect in the NCAA's. Carolina is still inconsistent, and you never know which player will have an off night. Cameron Johnson is really banged up - hope his back is better by Thursday or Friday, and Berry is having ankle issues again. This time of the year, a lot of guys are dealing with injuries though. Good luck to all ACC teams!

Those are the picks I had. I had State beating BC, so they messed up by bracket. I don't care what Bubble Boy Lunardi says, State is definately in the Tourney, not on the bubble. Duke looked unstoppable last night. Every time Allen touched the ball, he nailed a 3. If he didn't get the ball outrside, Bagley got it inside. They didn't need Carter, who got saddled with foul trouble early. I don't follow the teams outside the ACC, but if Duke playes like they did last night, I can see them winning it all.
