The difference in the halves was enormous. For FTS our QB was on one leg the entire game. Not scoring on the initial drive of the 2nd half was a killer for us. After that SA offense just rolled and FTS couldn't find an answer. Up and down season ends in the 3rd Round. For SA, good luck with 71st. I don't see that being much of a game.

Brother I should have warned you.... When you said watching SA was like watching paint dry I could have told you yall was in good shape. Yall were as it was 14-13 at half. But SA made adjustments and began looking like a video game. When that offense becomes exciting the opponent is in trouble.

Great season man! Only one team ends their season with a win at each level.

2nd Half Bad. Really Bad. FTS errors, injuries and SA toughness are a combination of vinegar for FTS fans. SA runs and runs and runs and runs. But they are beating our tails, so I have no soapbox. Early 4th 33-13 SA. FTS has changed QBs. Don't want to complain, but our senior QB couldn't move. Probably shouldn't have been out there.

Oh where to start....so watching SA is like watching paint dry. What a boring team. So FTS has driven at will on SA but come up empty 3 of 4 times. Holding penalty called back one TD, dropped TD on another. Err...killing us. BUT...FTS keeps fighting and SA, throws a pick six on the last play of the half, and it was a bad pick six on their FIRST pass of the game, and FTS goes into the half up 13-12. I'm not sure what I just saw but this is the third game FTS was down by 2x TDs and has come right back. FTS gets the ball to start the 2nd half. Wow.

Okay, so nearly gametime. FTS Senior QB Wright is a game time decision due to an ankle injury. Not good, really not good. Wright has had an outstanding year, hope the young man gets his shot tonight.

Just caught some articles regarding the Southern Alamance coach getting removed before the playoffs and the players/parents trying to get him reinstated. Doesnt seem to have hurt the Patriots so far. Interesting wrinkle the deeper you head into the playoffs.

Cape Fear really didn't pound them. That game was handled a lot better by FTS than the outcomes say it did. A lot of questionable calls. That fumble was clearly an incomplete pass and tons of pass interference calls that looked like good DB play. Cape Fear just kept lobbing the ball up and they either caught them or were bailed out with interference calls. I think FTS will win this game by a close margin.

FTS is a good team but this Southern Alamance team I saw this year it was shocking. They block and I want to ensure everyone hear me that offensive line blocks. Southern Nash took them to the limit if Terry Sanford can get on the outside and stop them from long drives they may can come out a winner. This is the best game of the week besides Northern Nash vs Scotland in the 3A round.

I saw Southern Alamance vs Southern Nash earlier this season and they are hugh up front with a couple of 6' 225 running backs. There defense is really sound. They beat Southern at it's own game and pounded the football hard in the second half beating Southern. Good 910 l know TS with rise to the occasion.

I do remember that one at Havelock. FTS has had a tough time in recent years in Round 3, losses at Havelock, Jacksonville and Southern Nash...last year the team got through by beating EA on the road. Will take the best effort of the year and what is the reward for a dub...71st in Round 4. Ouch.

FTS defense has performed better in the recent weeks, but good ground and pound teams (Cape Fear, Scotland as examples) really hurt our D in early part of the year. The team has been hardened through the year and is playing inspired ball right now. To beat SA @SA will take the best effort of the year.

Overall the Cumberland County teams just seem to be a bit tougher this year. Cape Fear gave Havelock a good fight through 3 quarters, they just didn't have enough offense and Havelock's speed wore them down in the end. Southern Alamance's Coaching situation with the HC being suspended has to have an effect on the team. Jacksonville is well coached and always a tough out, but I don't think SA is ready for this type of continuous high level competition. Havelock played TS back in 2018 and they were very impressive even though they lost. I expect the same. FTS in a close one.

Southern Alamance offense is he ll to prepare for. I haven't seen FTS play so I can't say how this one will go down. SA defense is solid bend but rarely breaks. Offensively you're gonna have to be patient. Defensively you'll need at least 5 dogs, a nose, 2 3's and 2 5's. If you have that you'll be fine.

The good draw TS got ends here, hard to figure if southern alamance could be a team on a mission or the exact opposite but they have won their first two games and beat a really good Jacksonville, good luck TS

Didn't FTS play an Alamance team in the playoffs last year?

  • Airborne910 Nov 10, 2023

Here we go...FTS will be decisive underdogs in this match up. But here we go, round 3 separates the men from the boys. As Coach Mac says, if we put it together, we can compete with anyone. This year's team is far less predictable than any in the last five. Lots of really discouraging losses, but the resilience is epic as 2x comeback wins in the playoffs point to a team on a mission. Haters going to hate but if you don't put us away, we can storm back.
