    Good news on the Panther forum - thanks, Max!

    I'm not sure about Fedora. I've been reading that the ECU game was the "tipping point". I'm certainly not happy with the way things are going, but I also realize that Fedora was handed a steaming pile of you-know-what when he took the job, with all the sanctions and loss of schollys. Two years ago Carolina went 11-1 in the regular season. The wheels have come off, though, and what I can't accept is that the team looks totally unprepared and disorganized. They continue to commit boneheaded penalties, a sign Fedora has lost control. As horrible as last year was, those guys were in almost all of the games, and never gave up. This year doesn't even seem to have the promise of a team that cares. Lack of discipline and focus are inexcusable. But can Carolina afford to buy him out?

    I'll wait to make my picks. If you were 11-2 in the ACC, I was probably 2-11! The FSU/VT game was great if you're at VT fan, not so much if you're an FSU fan. FSU looked dreadful. Steve Logan is back. He said ND could have Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on their team, and they'd STILL be ranked. Not a fan of ND, but glad they beat Michigan. Can't stand Harbough. That was another game I got wrong - lol. Glad I don't bet on games.

    I watched Miami/LSU last night-I listen to all the pundits rave about Miami, I thought they were a fraud last year and didn't change my mind after last night, these media guru's are always college is better when Miami or whoever is one of the favs is good. I think college is great whomever is good that year, this has to be changed or that has to be changed. I notice the new rule if you fair catch a kick off on the 10 yard line you still get it on the 25.

    Wish I had Sirius. Tuned into DG the other day, and I swear, 30 seconds into listening, he was bragging about his "unprecedented state-wide show" that HE hosted. Turned the radio off. At least Adamand Joe never brag.

    I think the State/JMU game may be close in the first half. Then State will blow it open. Your QB is for real.

    been listening to sirius, they got some jurks on radio too, not as bad as 99.9, were the local beating the Meyer situation to death like the sirius guys, I like Packer he pretty stays away that stuff as much as possible.

    Pack new D-L will not be as bad as people are predicting, where their shortcoming will be the next four behind the starters, same with linebackers, secondary should be better, depend how fast some of second line replacement improve do, that will be the make or break for this season, I think Doeren is a good organizer and has good assistants as teachers-I think he is slowly building something.

    While State did lose a lot on defense to graduation and the NFL, I don't think you have to worry about JMU. I get what you say about playing FCS teams, though. It can be a lose-lose. If you win, you're SUPPOSED to win, so no credit given. But if you lose, everyone jumps all over you. Carolina opens with Cal - will be a tough game.

    still doing my NFL boycott, will watch college fb as often as possible, 10 days away first game JMU worries me first game tweaking to be done, if you come out flat sometimes its hard to get the engine going especially if JMU start out hot. do not like fcs games, play one power 5 like WVU, another like Kansas, one automatice fcs win and a team like Wyoming, throw in a little spice like Colorado or Oregan St., Florida, Texas, Michigan, Kan. St. once in a while.

    Just reading about Nascar, they just don't seem to get it, the heart and soul of Nascar is in the south, to put more excitement in racing they put a race in Rockingham, get back to the roots, have the year end awards banquets at Charlotte or Atlanta, I think it turned off a lot of people when they trotted off to NY city, I remember when they started expanding to other parts of the country, it was going strong, a sports writer said (yes a writer) after the novelty wears off, they will half empty tracks-exactly what is happening-GET BACK TO YOUR ROOTS, the networks -Fox,NBC etc put over half the races on their secondary networks like NBCSN, FOXsports, cable/sat. channels-there are a lot people that don't use cable or Sat. cost is driving them away
    only watch races when they are on over the air networks -- my rant for the day--wake up Nascar

    Soccer is so low down on my give a you-know-what list of sports I enjoy. I respecet the athletes, but not a fan. I think a lot of people who aren't originally from this area are the soccer fans. Nothing wrong with it, but I'll never be a fan of soccer. The afternoon 99.9 guys were talking about anything BUT soccer today.

    wral and fox 50 have been bombarding us with soccer for about a month, now that w/c is over, enough is enough, when you get outside of the Cary/Raleigh/Chapel Hill area very few people give a hoot about soccer unless they are transplants, just had to vent --my 2 cents

    That would be an amazing game, Max - hope you get to cross it off your bucket list. I remember when the Yankees were a dynasty, which is why I was never a fan. I was a Mets fan (they were as un-Yankee as you could get). I don't follow baseball, other than the highlights I see on ESPN. I had hoped Matt Harvey woudl work out with the Mets, especially with his Carolina connection, but that was a bad marriage. He seems to be pitching much better with the Reds.

    We're inching closer to kickoff!

    Atlanta Braves beat Cleveland in the 95 WS, I went to that game, it was a pitchers dual, 1-0 Atlanta in the 6th game -only time I have pulled against the Indians, next year Braves played Yankees and lost, went to game 4, that is when I found out Yankee fans are the biggest a--holes around, pull for Red Sox and Braves one day I am gonna get to a see Braves/Red Sox game would love to go to Fenway to see it.
