In my day our football coaches made us train with track just to keep the body in shape and help our sprinting but nowadays it's hard for a track coach to even get the football guys in practice when football is year round at most schools especially weight room and workouts. I personally feel as though football players can benefit from good coaching in track especially the skill guys when speed plays a big part on the field.

I believe there are about 7 sprinters coming back. Cravont Charleston a 10th grader who placed 5th in the 100 meters coming back. We had 2 guys on the football team ran 49'400 meters, and 3 guys who ran 10.9 100 meters. They were all kicked off for doing football drills during practice. New Track Coaches wanted a 100% commitment. Missing practices and running routes and plays during practice really got under his skin. Also not enough people participated in field events. We should be competitive in some events. Not enough kids taking it serious enough to win a state championship.

nepsy7 Cunningham did work along with the rest of the MC guys. Correct me if I'm wrong but Howe, Charleston, Gaddy, and Grier were the only MC guys I saw that weren't seniors if MC can get more of those football guys to come out and commit to the training along with the camps and combines MC can definitely be crowned in the near future. Preciate the comments about the Knights those kids are amazing when healthy and Sat. just wasn't one of those days.

You have to commend Knightdale on what they have accomplished. You definitely need a complete track team. Mallard Creek we finished 3rd. We won the 100,200,4x100..Second in the high jump. We placed in a few other events. We were still almost 20points away. Knightdale's streak is definitely something I don't see being beat in my life time.

Where did you find the times?

The Knights had a rough spring due to injuries...all three relays were run with alternates that really weren't race ready for a championship meet but those kids that were hurt still attempted all of their events but could not compete efficiently.

Any thoughts on what happened? Looking at their times it seems like they really under performed.

Capital relax, everybody is gunning for the champs as usual! Same story, different day, we will see about the outcome soon enough. 3rd coach in 3 years, gives all hope, end result has been being the same before, naysayers said they wouldn't do it last year either. Let's see if this group can pull it off again. We shall see?

Be careful everyone else, don't let the last month cause you to forget what has been going on for the last 4-5 years, could be fools gold. "To be the man, you got to beat the man" on the big stage - The Nature Boy

We all are entitled to support our schools, root for and hope for the best for the kids that put in the work to be succesful. However getting on here, talking about coming for State titles and conference championships....when the Knights are easily the BEST Boys track program in the state....is a little boastful, and honestly a tad disrespectful...LOL...
Knightdale isn't some school that got lucky and won a state title, we are working on 7, yes 7, in a row...SMH
Remain humble, come ready to compete and see what happens....but all these boastful predictions....LOL

The Bulldogs will come prepared for PR's and victories. Next year, they will be even better! The tide is shifting, one conference championship at a time....

Yes they did and congrats but how will they place for regionals going into states...the majority of the entries for the GNRC won't even qualify for regionals. Lose the battle to win the war.

Knightdale track and field sounds like the St. Augustines University track and field coached by the great George Williams. Total dominance!

The outdoor season definitely looks promising for the Knights but let's not put the wagon before the horse. An outdoor championship is a lot harder to achieve as opposed to an indoor one. The Knights have been historic in their paths to the podiums and it is an expectation of greatness instead of wishing or hoping for it. What events the Knights will focus on is probably a better question concerning outdoors but yes they are a sound team and should make a very strong run at outdoor states!
